Samson Audio Players & Recorders - Page 7 - Answered Questions & Fixed Issues
Hey recently bought samson Q7
A sound card like an MBox or something like that will do it. Or a small desk with a USB out or if your computer has 3.5 in then any small mixer will work with some adapters.

When I record vocals with stereo setting it always
Your microphone is a mono input (one), therefore recording in stereo is not practical. Stereo inputs are left and right (two inputs). Whatever your recording setup or audio workstation, the track you record to from your microphone needs to mono.

You are getting DC offset voltage on one of your amplifiers that is the reason the speaker pushes out and you might be hearing a humming noise too. Do not turn on the speakers till you get it fixed or else you would end up burning the speaker voice coil too.The dim blue LED is also an indication of a short circuit in the output stage.
Your left amplifier needs a output chip (IC ) replacement. You will need professional help to do that. Will cost you about 20$ plus service charges.
Everytime i record on cool
Make sure the the "pan" isn't adjusted to one side in the program. You could also go into your microphone properties through the computers master volume and see if there's an issue in there. Along with unplugging and replugging the mic in. Also the switches on these mics need to be in a solid state. Like the input switch completely on one side or the other.
My microphone doesn't work, I
its probably a wire came loose, unscrew the head (airguard) then you should h ave 2 tiny screws that hold the switch in place, carefully slide it forward and as you do push the main cord for the amp plug in along with it as you push it through,, check those wires to be sure the connection hasn't come loose

Hi I just got a
Hello
When record with this unit just adjust its Mic and Volume level to low; and adjust it from there to up until you get a clear recording with this instrument. It is a trial and error method, and have to be done to a level that you get the recording well. Start from the lowest level to high. A very high level recrding will distort all the sound spectrum. OK.

Do i need a driver
No, but you do need one thing. You have two options. Option one is a Mixer with USB output or USB Interface. Option two is to buy a USB Audio Interface. Personally, I'd go with option one because you can control every aspect of the mic and the music or instrument. The USB Interface does need a driver but it is included. The R21S Mic is an XLR Dynamic Mic.

I connected the microphone on
The thing is that the Samson C01U was not designed for live applications. Your solution, if you like delayed sound, is to use Virtual Audio Cable. Otherwise, I would get either a Samson GTrack, or invest in a cheap but functional mixer with a good mic. If you want to record however, you go into your audio recording settings and select the C01U as the recording mic. If you record and hear little sound, go into sound manager... Click on properties and select on Samson C01U. A one channel volume control will pop out. change the volume and record. BTW, a good audio program is Audacity... It's free. I hope that I have helped you...

I got a Samson R31S
It can be software issue. The audio software is not installed or if its installed, its got corrupted.Reinstall the audio software in your system,.Then try.It will detect the microphone and you will get sound.-----Also it can be possible, that settings are not perfect and this is causing the problem.
1) Unplug your external mic .
2) Open volume control .
3) Switch it to recording control (menu options/properties/recording)
4) There are few columns (internal mic, external mic, line in ...) each with checkbox at the bottom and one and only one checkbox is with tick .
5) After plug-in your mic tick moves from iternal to line-in and this is wrong, you need to have tick on external mic. Tick could be set manually but ext. mic .
6) So select external.mic and select ok.Then check.
------------ If still the same problem is there, then re-check if the tick is got moved from external mic to any other option. If its got moved, that this is the problem.--------
In some cases, the ext. mic tick gets moved and this procedure has helped.
Do plug-in of ext. mic very slowly!! Try that and system will move tick to ext. mic when just half of jack is inside that's it, once it gets set,now you can put your jack fully and it should work correctly.
--------------
Go into the sound preferences menu, hardware tab, at the bottom there a section called settings for the selected device. If its set to an output only setting (hence no microphone input). Then this can cause problem.Set to mic -input setting. This will also help.------
-------------
But if its sound/ audio driver issue, then re-installing the sound/audio software is advisable. To get drivers if you dont have installation cd, you can download it from dell site or you can contact dell to send you exact driver for your pc.----------------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

My Computer Cannot Detect it...Its
This kind of problem is very common when you have a computer that has been formatted or some kind of error occurred that required it to remove some part of the drivers designed to control the external devices. In other words, the driver which was responsible for handling this device is no longer available on your computer and as such, the computer cannot handle it unless it is reinstalled.
To do this, there are several methods by which you can go.
First of all, you can insert the disc that came with the device when it was bought and connect the device. When it asks you to install the driver, all you have to do is to set it to read from the CD-rom and it will automatically find the drivers and install them too.
Secondly, if you cannot find the disc that came with the device, you can search online for it and download it to a safe location on your computer and set it to read from that location. If you cannot find the driver, you can drop the complete make and model of the device and i would help you to get the required drivers to make your device function properly.
Hope this was helpful? Please comment for more information and thank you for using FixYa.
I purchased a R31S Samson
A dynamic mic connected to the your computer's mic jack is an analog connection. So your computer won't give a notification that there's a mic connected. However, you can view input levels through the default windows mixer of your sound card or any program or application installed on your computer that has the capability.
Had it been connected through usb or firewire, it would be digital and you wold be notified that the device had been detected via device drivers etc.
Hope this helps

Hi i have a Samson EX500 Subwoofer that makes a
Most likely induced vibration caused solder pad fracturing at one or both large toroidal inductors perpendicular to and close to the heat sink. You should also carefully insert fish paper insulators between these coils and nearby bare metal parts to prevent arcing when the laquer insulation wears (also due to vibration).
Be careful to discharge the 2 main electrolytic capacitors on the power supply circuit board prior to doing any soldering or instant component destruction may result.

Hey. Im having a problem
MIDI isn't audio, think of it as a sheet of music. It still needs to be played to be heard. Not sure of your recording setup but the midi performance that you have needs to trigger a keyboard or drum machine or VST instrument of some sort.
The mic does not record stereo
This Mic is not a stereo Mic. If you're using a windows computer, check your sound control panel to see if the mic wasn't suddenly set to two channel device.
My mic continues to make a buzzing noise. I just
this problem need to be fixed, your microphone need to unlock it, and see if there is any piece in a wrong position, try to isolate each piece, without cutting any wires, it seems like a hard process but its not that hard, and remember you should do this unless you are sure that there is no shallow problem like the wire that is plugged onto the computer, see if its appropriately inserted id not do the process yourself.
