Hi, i have been suggested first a Samson servo
the servo series is geared more towards studio applications and/or installs, while the sx series are geared for live pa applications. the servo 600 is 300 watts per channel @ 4 ohm, and the sx1200 is 450 watts per channel at 4 ohms. the sx amp can also be bridged over to mono mode, where it puts out, i think, 1100 watts mono.
the only variable i havent been able to cover is sound quality, and im not seeing those listings in the specs on the samson website
My mic seems to pick up internal noise even when muted
Hi, You can check you the connectios or the mic. remember that the mic is too sensitive, you can adjust it with the nobb on the mic by putting it on o -dB and reduce the highs on your mixer or EQ to reduce hiss sound.
But fisr check the connection properly to see if when muted, is muted properly.
Take care.

Sorry this isn't a solution but just letting you know I'm having the same trouble, the funny thing is mine was working a couple of months back and now its not, it's driving me crazy.
How to increase recording level for Samson C01U microphone
If your recordings are too quiet, increase the gain of the microphone. In Windows:
- Open Recording devices (easiest way to get there is right-click on the speaker icon near the clock and select "Recording devices")
- Plug in USB mic It will appear by name under the Recording tab, with a level meter next to it.
- Right-click on that microphone (not the Realtek/etc. built-in sound card) and click Properties
- In the Microphone Properties window (not Speakers Properties), go to the Levels tab. The slider that says "Microphone" next to it adjusts the internal gain of the mic.
- Make sure the speaker next to it is un-muted.
- Talk or play into the microphone at a loud volume.
- While watching the level meter in the other window, move the slider to the right, until the level meter is almost reaching the top.
- Press Ok
- Tap lightly on the mic, the Recording devices level meter should be lighting up almost to the top.
You can also adjust the level directly from some audio software. In Audacity, for example:
- Run Audacity
- Click Edit menu ? Preferences...
- Click Devices
- In the Recording box, there's a drop-down menu, click it and select the USB microphone as the recording device.
- Press Ok
- To see Audacity's level meter without recording, press Pause and then Record
- Talk or play into the microphone at a loud volume.
- While watching the level meter, adjust the Recording Volume slider until it almost reaches the top
- Un-press Pause to start recording.
