Hello. We bought a used Powcon 300ST. It TIG welds great. It will not stick weld. Does anyone have any ideas of things to start looking at? Thank you.

It does say it is primarily a TIG welder. My guess is the the sticks are too heavy gauge for it. Did you get a manual with it? https://www.google.com/search?q=Powcon+300ST https://www.google.com/search?q=Powcon+300ST+manual ....

We have a weld and power 230 and we need to strike an actor get the generator or the welder to work. (Otherwise it just puts out enough voltage to turn a deill)

have you tried the idler switch and place to the hi position. this will cause the unit to rev up to full speed. see page 12 copy and paste https://assets.lincolnelectric.com/assets/ap/operatormanuals/ima572rev0f.pdf ..

Miller 325 EFI welder motor won't start. seems like fuel delivery issues.

Likely fuel delivery i.e. low fuel pressure at the injectors.

Causes;
Low fuel
Fuel filter plugged
Fuel supply line plugged
Lift fuel pump - insufficient fuel supply
Fuel pump (lift or module) - internally plugged
Pressure regulator not functioning properly

Minimum module (injector) pump voltage is 7VDC measured at the pump. The unit requires a battery with sufficient charge to provide cranking current to the starter and feed the fuel pump (lift and/or module).

Once running, the charging system must provide sufficient current to maintain a battery voltage in excess of 13VDC. Less than 13VDC implies failing charging system and/or battery.

Used my brand new Rossi 130 a gasless mig welder & after 10 minutes the wire feed stopped,

The only things that come to mind after your checks are a spool not set in completely, a stripped spool or a spool drive shaft failure of some kind. so...make surenthe spool is not stripped, its seated all the way and if so is the drive shaft for the spool and/or feeder pulleys all moving. If nothing is moving anywhere but you hear the actuator motors turning inside you have a warranty issue.

What is Welding Electrode?

An electrode is a coated metal wire. It is made of materials that are similar to the metal being welded. To begin, there are consumable and non-consumable electrodes. The electrodes in SMAW, also known as a stick, are consumables, which means they wear out during use and melt with the weld. TIG Welding Electrodes are non-consumable, so they do not melt and become part of the weld. Electrodes are continuously fed wire during GMAW or MIG welding. Flux-cored arc welding necessitates the use of a continuously fed consumable tubular electrode containing a flux.

What is the difference between TIG & MIG welding?

MIG welding is also called Metal inert gas welding, gas metal arc (GMAW) welding. MIG welding uses an arc of electricity that creates a short circuit amidst a constant anode and a cathode. The short circuit produces heat and a non-reactive gas. This melts metal, enabling it to be mixed together. After the heat is removed, the metal cools down and then solidifies, creating new fused metal. MIG wire is used in MIG welding. Tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding utilizes a non-consumable tungsten electrode that produces the electric arc for the weld. Unlike MIG welding, TIG welding does not require additional metal to be added.

Which type of dissimilar welding materials combination is good for welding?

Dissimilar welding refers to the process of connecting materials with different alloys through welding. The filler material and both metals need to be evaluated before choosing the best way to connect the metals. The type of welding typically used for dissimilar metals is fusion welding, which welders also use for joining similar metals. In some instances, a welder may need to determine another method for joining dissimilar metals. For all these types of joining, the welder will need to consider: 1. The composition of the intermetallic layer. 2. The unmixed zone (UMZ) of base materials that did not combine into the intermetallic layer. 3. The heat-affected zone (HAZ)

What is the difference between overlay welding and hard facing?

Hardfacing welding is an overlay i.e to completely cover the surface such as applying an overlay to a worn or damaged shaft. Overlay welding is normally done with a machineable alloy that is close to or very compatible with the original alloy. Hardfacing is typically not normally done as a complete overlay but rather placed only at wear point or it is applied to surfaces with the random arrangement. Hardfacing electrodes are specially used in hard facing.

What is the best flux cored welding wire?

Welding includes consolidating various materials. In the welding procedure, a decent measure of 'dissolving' of the metals happens while fixing two metals together, and this is the thing that separates it from patching and brazing. Generally, metals or thermoplastics are utilized in the welding procedure. Flux-cored bend welding (FCAW) is one of the well known welding forms. It is a programmed or self-loader circular segment strategy. Presented during the 1950s, this procedure includes the utilization of another sort of wire cathode on a MIG welding machine. This is the motivation behind why motion cored is viewed as like MIG welding process. The types of gear utilized in both the procedures are the same, so are wire fields and force supply. The wire utilized in this intention is the rounded wire and not so the typical strong wire. Fundamentally there are two kinds of flux core wire: a. Self-protected b. Double Shield While self-protected wires don't utilize any outer gas shield, rather they utilize the transition to shield the liquid weld puddle; double shield wire utilizes both the outside protecting gas just as the motion to secure the liquid weld puddle. Normally carbon dioxide and argon are utilized as protecting gases in double shield transition cored wire. In the event that we contrast motion cored circular segment and MIG welding process, at that point, it has more noteworthy efficiency. While a MIG welder can create on a normal 5 to 8 pounds of weld in 60 minutes, FCAW delivers over 25 pounds of weld for each hour. Alongside higher profitability, transition center welding can weld 1/2? plates during a period that too on both sides with the full entry. This is the exact motivation behind why this welding procedure is utilized in the shipbuilding industry which requires great welds that are not tedious and can work even in breezy conditions. It is additionally utilized in the development industry because of its speed and transportability.

Welder seems to jump and it feeing wire, it runs free when not welding, checked gas, new tip, still jumps as welding

If it is an MiG welder, there are a few possibilities. 1- The roller traction adjustment of the feeder roller is incorrect or not properly locked. 2- Your weld makes the wire stick to the metal and holds back the feed causing backspooling. If this is the case, try increasing the welding amp or voltage. 3.-Low quality welding spool.
