Check, Make sure the cables are connected. Try cleaning the laser and the DVD. Make sure the TV is on the correct input.
try swapping one of the sound cables to see if the yellow cables is in fact damaged.
1) Plug the DVD player in to the TV that it does work on. Make sure there is no disc in the player. Check the DVD players set up menu. Look in the Picture menu and change the output to "RGB" Move the player back to the TV/VHS Combi. Select the input that gives you RGB1.
2) Same as above, but this time change the Picture menu to PAL (or composite or Video....whatever is the other option name that isn't RGB or S-Video). Retest on the Combi, but this time you want AV1.
If these don't work then you might need to have a look in the TV manual about connecting external sources. It could be that because the combi has a recorder that it's trying to stop you from copying DVD to VHS. See if there's an input on the combi that bypases the recorder.

Sounds like either that dvd player is on a different channel. Look for a channel switch on the headphones and also check the on screen menu to see what channel it is set to.
The cause of this could be you need new wiring because something like a mouse from outside could have chewed on it or it was shorted out or you may even just need to replace the fuses i would suggest you check your owners manual and find the Radio,heater,clock fuses and check them. The way you check for a broke or burnt fuse is you take it out and you look at the metal on the inside if it is black and broken it is no good if it looks like there is no damage and the metal is connected then you may have a wiring issue.

On most overhead systems there is a switch or button that turns the sound off the headphones. Also sometimes if the headphones are turned off sometimes that enables the audio to goto the vehicles system. Do you have it directly connected to the cars radio or do you have a wireless fm modulator that you have to tune it to an fm radio station?
put dvd purple wire to the car gray wire your traverse has positive trigger. Hope that works , switch has to go to positive on dome switch . Please post back if that works.
