Hi Gill. Check, Make sure the cables are connected. Try cleaning the laser and the DVD. Make sure the TV is on the correct input. try swapping one of the sound cables to see if the yellow cables is in fact damaged. 1) Plug the DVD player in to the TV that it does work on. Make sure there is no disc in the player. Check the DVD players set up menu. Look in the Picture menu and change the output to "RGB" Move the player back to the TV/VHS Combi. Select the input that gives you RGB1. 2) Same as above, but this time change the Picture menu to PAL (or composite or Video....whatever is the other option name that isn't RGB or S-Video). Retest on the Combi, but this time you want AV1. If these don't work then you might need to have a look in the TV manual about connecting external sources. It could be that because the combi has a recorder that it's trying to stop you from copying DVD to VHS. See if there's an input on the combi that bypases the recorder. Have you tried contacting the manufacturer of the DVD player? That is where you should start.

Sounds like either that dvd player is on a different channel. Look for a channel switch on the headphones and also check the on screen menu to see what channel it is set to.

The cause of this could be you need new wiring because something like a mouse from outside could have chewed on it or it was shorted out or you may even just need to replace the fuses i would suggest you check your owners manual and find the Radio,heater,clock fuses and check them. you have the memory lead on the radio wired up to a switched wire, this wire needs constant power, like straight to the battery or to a constant power source in your fusebox.

I removed mine and stripped it down there is a silver inner and outer panel on it be careful when dismantling it on the inner silver panel at the top towards the left hand side theres a straight piece of metal about an inch long on a pivot it should have 2 springs attached at each end my spring on the left hand side had come off i reattached it to the left you can see were it attaches because theres notches on the metal opposite it Then mine worked fine hope this helps

put dvd purple wire to the car gray wire your traverse has positive trigger. Hope that works , switch has to go to positive on dome switch . Please post back if that works.

Most likely a problem with the unit's mechanism---if possible take a look inside to see if a coin or something that does not belong is inside the unit.mechanism could have an alignment problem or a broken part.

In most of the cases, this problem is not related to cd.But still get the cd checked in any other player too, this will confirm the fault. Also try other various cds in the cd player and confirm. But if the cds not playing in other player too then its faulty cd.But this is very rare. Most probably the fault is related to cd player. In the cd player unit there are two main parts. One is cd spinning motor and other is cd reading lens(its also called "EYE" of the cd player).But if you hear that cd is spinning but its not playing,. This clears that motor is working, but its not playing so its the problem of lens.But if you dont hear any cd spinning noise then both motor and lens problem are there, and any of the one is possible. The lens is not reading the cd,because its got dirty or its got cracked and faulty. The cd player lens is made up of thin glass and its very delicate. Many a times dust gets collected on the lens, so the lens stops reading the cd and it do not play. Some times there is no dirt on lens but it gets cracked, if by mistake any pressure is applied on the unit or up-side down cd is placed in the tray or internal short circuit has occurred. These are few possibilities of lens not working. But in most cases its dirty lens causing this problem. SO open the tray by pressing the eject button, then turn of car, by keeping the cd tray open. Then take air blower and blow air in the unit. Please remove, if there is any cd in the tray while blowing air. Just blow air for few minutes. Then take a dry tissue and clean the cd placing tray externally and then turn the power on to car and see, if that is helping or not. If the problem is same as before, then disassemble the unit and clean the lens manually by hand using dry tissue paper and then see if its helping. But take care while cleaning the lens with dry tissue , and you doesn't apply too much pressure on lens or any other parts. Also before removing any screw to disassemble the unit. Take a marker with you ready. Just mark the position of parts and screws before removing. If you have a cell phone with web cam in it then take a photo of the internal parts before moving any parts. Disassembly is not very hard but reassembling is not easy. So this pictures and marks with help you for reassembly. ----------But if lens is cracked internally then the lens assembly has to be replaced. You can get it replaced from local cd /dvd player repair center. They have these parts with them. --------------- To take apart cd player, you need to remove it out from dash .Check both the things, the cd lens and wiring to the motor, which spins the cd inside the player.This should help.
