Here is the mechanical fix on how to turn off the stopwatch sound.
So, you pull the pins out, one at a time. The springs are pretty weak so you don't have to worry about them flying into your eyes. This also made reassembly easier than I thought it would be. Remove the clip, remove the screws and you will see a silver piece on the back plate of the clip which is about the size of a quarter. That's the speaker. Flip the back plate around (screw size) and simply push you screw driver through the hole pushing the speaker away from it's glued position. I put a piece of electrical tape over the hole and tossed the speaker. It's that simple. Now put everything back together. You can also bend the springs a bit to increase tension of your clip while it's apart. I hope this helped some of you.

Can't find anything on the SC-600 so the next best is the same chronograph just newer and here is the manual for both presumably...
