The fans no longer turn on and the inverter shuts

YOu can replace the small fans and it will work fine. Go to newark, com and they have very small cooling fans like that.Same ones that computers have for cooling. You will have to open things up and get some numbers and dimensions. If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/craig_3fa289bf857b1a3c

High pitch alarm and fault light flashes, no power, how to stop

There is no reset switch, unhook it from the present power supply to reset it. Then reconnect. It should have been disconnected before the battery was removed and then reconnected whist turned off when the battery was replaced

Power drop

Hey, Question: Is the 2400 watt the peak rating or the continuous rating of the unit, and what is your power source for the inverter. If 2400 is the peak, the 1200 is probably the continuous. Your 75 watt fridge will draw probably 150-170 watts to start up, which will load the inverter to draw 15-17 amps of load on your 12 volt power source. If the battery supply is weak, the current draw at startup will cause the voltage to drop and set off the alarm. Getting the start up out of order may work for a while, but will eventually blow the internal fuses on the inverter, or possibly blow out the capacitors. Check the condition of the battery supply, and make sure the bar fridge is in good working order to resolve this problem.

If you are referring to the RoadPro RPPI-250
  • 2000 Watts Continuous Power
  • 2500 Watts Power Output @ 10 Minutes
  • 5000 Watts Peak Power Output.
  • A small fridge will use about 500 -700 watts, with startup wattage at around 2000watts.
  • So, a dorm fridge will work fine.
  • the RoadPro converts DC to AC voltage, so a regular 120 volt dorm fridge will work.

My cooling fans are running at full speed on my

    Hello there.

The inverter fans are controlled by a circuit connected to temp sensor on the inverter board, if the fans run at full speed all the time it can be only for two reasons. Either the inverter is overheating, or the temp sensor or fan control circuit are faulty. Also a contact to main 12V/24V on fans wiring can cause same problem in this case only one fan will run at full speed.

You can verify if this is overheating by letting the inverter to cool down completely, unplugging it from DC input and outputs for few hours. If on restart the fans stay at full speeed all the time, then the temperature control circuit on the inverter must be tested.

Running the inverter on this condition will cause an excessive power drawing from inverter , and in the long run may damage to fun bearing.

Dust is often cause of problems of this kind.

If you decide to DIY remember that the inverter is an High voltage device, and also remember that the big electrolytic capacitors inside the inverter can hold a big charge for several hours, even after unplugging it from DC in. Also a badly repaired inverter is an hazard and can also damage connected devices.

    How to connect to the

Your connection willl be governed by the size of the inverter. Some smaller units plug into a vehcile's "power outlet." This used to be called the cigarette lighter. This is usually true for inverters up to about 400 watts.

For larger inverters, you should have received a set of cables, one with a red clamp and one with a black clamp. The black clamp gets attached the vehicle baterry's negative terminal and the red clamp goes to the vehicle's postive terminal.

If you plan to use the inverter for any length of time, the vehicle should be runnig to prevent the battery from going dead.
