check the datacable and first of all try loosing static charge and restart the system and now reinstall the required drivers

Increasing the default resolution setting, would slow the scanner down, and also increase file sizes dramatically

Clean the rollers properly with IPA (Iso Propyl Alcohol) Industrial grade. Dot use solvents.

Open the scanner unit ..Lock lever of scanner unit is locked.

Unlock the lock lever of scanner unit.

The scanner glass is dirty. Its usually caused by a very tiny spec on the glass.

Clean the glass and it will go away.

Have you tried uninstalling the scanner and reinstalling it? Do you have the original software for it. If you do not then you should be abe to obtain a driver download at this site:

If you need to download the driver, be sure to do a clean download which means you need to turn off the scanner and unplug it,to turn off all running programs to do this including virus control. Download the file and save it to your desktop then click on it to install. Restart your computer.

We have also seen that Adobe Acrobat doesn't produce very clear scans (with a range of scanners). Adobe gives very good pdf file size but it downsamples images.

Try cleaning the rubber rollers onder the cover where the documents feed in, using a rag and some rubbing alcohol.

Unfortunately, the message indicates that the internal startup tests have failed. If this unit is just past the warranty period, I would contact the manufacturer anyway and complain. No unit should fail that close to the period conclusion especially with little to no use. It is possible that a brown-out may have damaged the internal logic. Only a service tech for the company could tell you that. The blinking lights are an indication of the problem found. Report that to the company as well.

Possible wear and tear. The image path movement must match the scan head one has to be 'stationery' in relation to the other- It seems that one element is slowing down. Is there a rate of travel adjustment to be made - check your manual
