Sony Vaio Loses Power, with both adapter AND Battery..
Sounds like your power outage might have damaged either your charger or your computer (or both). What type of electrical thingy did you use and where did you use it? Did it have a red clip and a black clip? or does it just make noise when you get close to the wires?
If it has a red clip/black clip then it is probably a multimeter. You'll need to look at the symbols on the power adaptor and look for the voltage output. If it says 19.5v. then you have to set your multimeter to that voltage range and then touch the red pin or clip to the middle of the plug and touch the black to the outside of the plug (both at the same time) and look at the readout. It should show either positive or negative 19.5v. or really really close 19.6 maybe. if it doesn't then the charger is dead. If it does then the computer has sustained damage. It can be repaired but it may be expensive.
If I were you I would call the power company and ask them what they plan on doing about the fact that their system fried your computer.

HINGE OPERATION - WON'T CLOSE
With your revo closed use a craft knife (or similar thin blade) to prize-off the Revo badge. Under the badge you will find the heads of the wire hinges. Pull out both. The top and bottom **** is then free to slide out a bit. use the sam balde to prize the hinge sliders from the bottom **** (do one side at a time but do not force it. Once the sliders are out you then need to accesss the back of the hinge to release the ribbon cable. Assembly is the reverse of dissasembly. use a lighter to warm up the glue on the revo logo so that it bonds weel with the plastic surface.
