There are two type lighted switches. One is called the pilot light switch and the other is called an indicator lighted switch. One application for the pilot light would be to tell you if you have the basement lights on. It would be located upstairs in the house near the closed basement door. This way you would know if someone is doing the laundry downstairs without opening the door because the neon would illuminate when the lights were on. The indicator switch would be used in for areas that you want someone to find the switch in the dark. like a elderly persons room. (it is also good as a night light). I wouldn't worry too much about it burning out, Neon can last over 15 yrs !

The two alarms simultaneous is questionable. My first thought is faulty control board but requires further troubleshooting. Check for loose cable connections and grounds.

As a test; check oil level. If oil level is safe, disconnect oil level sensor and see if problem goes away. If problem reoccurs, troubleshoot oil warning circuit.

you are missing the base in that image. The base holds the 4 batteries, probably in a plastic holder cartridge. They do need something across the bottom of the battery to connect all 4 and supply the bulb with 6 volts..

It could be a problem with the fuse and the circuit for the bathroom that is causing this issue to be occurring and a problem with the electricity wires and supply too and needs to be looked and inspected by an electrician to see why this is happening.

You omitted to say whether your "mains" is supplied by inverter, generator or mains hook up?

If there is no power at the outlet(s) and the breakers are ok then either there is a break in the wiring or no power is being supplied to the breaker box.

I suggest you check your supply and if ok, check the wiring to the breakers and outlets for continuity...

The generator set comprises an engine and an alternator that in principle is very similar to that found fitted to most car and truck engines in that current is generated in the stator by a revolving electromagnet or rotor. Output is controlled by varying the strength of the magnetic field; these days by electronic means.

A few generators have self energising rotors but while having the advantage of simplicity they seem neither particularly reliable or efficient.

When the output is low, assuming the stator has no shorted windings, the cause is probably insufficient energising current reaching the rotor and that could be due to bad brush gear or faulty or maladjustment of the regulator...
