You can use the hardware restore button on the Polycom HDX system to reset the system in one of these ways: • Restoring configuration-Restores the configuration, which resets most system settings to default values. • Factory restore-Completely erases the system and restores it to the software version and default configuration stored in its factory partition. If you follow this procedure while a USB storage device is connected, the system restores from the USB device instead of the system's factory partition. The restore button is on the front of the Polycom HDX 9000 series system, as shown in the following figure. The restore button is on the front of the Polycom HDX 8000 series, Polycom HDX 7000 series, and Polycom HDX 4000 systems, as shown in the following figure. Try using the S-Video output and then try using the VGA output from the VSX 6000 unit. The unit can be fixed to output from either as the first monitor output (you may have the dual monitor option enabled). If this does not work the resolution of the TV might be HD, the output of your VSX 6000 is Standard Definition. You will need a monitor that accepts standard definition. If this does not work, I would reboot your VSX 6000 and try again. David

Yikes man. The Polycom phones are used in just about every hosted or sip based pbx. So hard to answer without more information. Do you have a message or voicemail button? Do you know anymore info about the system that your phone connects to? Company name etc?

Transmission circuit is responsive, however the speaker seems to be defective or the receiver section has failed. This is an internal function whereby the unit requires inspection by a technician to correct the issue at hand.

The easiest way to fix this is to have use TFTPD32 and set the firmware in the default directory so that when the phone boots it gets its DHCP with Option 66 from the machine running TFTPD32 and automatically pulls the firmware

I accessed http://www.POLYCOM.com and used their "search" function to look for 'LIFECAM', but no results were returned. So, the answer seems to be NEITHER operating system.

To upgrade the VSX 6000 you will need to purchase the license key from Polycom

When the Polycom is on-hook (not in a call), use the volume rocker to change the volume of the ringer.

Unless you are good a solder then you probably won't be able to do it. You wolud need to solder a potentiometer inline of the + voltage to the speaker. Or solder one inline with the existing one. Potentiometer = voltage control aka volume control.
