My Polaris 3900 Sport is

With these automatic pool cleaners, if they are not staying firmly on the bottom of the pool, it is most likely that there is air in the appliance casing.Try submerging your cleaner. Keep the cleaner vertical while you are putting it in slowly to let the air out. Ensure the unit sinks to the bottom of the pool.

Sport 3900 is doing wheelies will not stay level to clean

1. Check the wheel RPM. If not in the 30-36 RPM range, refer to the manual for adjusting the wheel RPM. 2. Adjust the thrust jet downward. 3. Verify the backup valve is cycling. Lift the valve out of the water and watch the jet. It should come on and go off. 4. Check for water inside the head float. 5. Empty the filter bag. You can download the 3900 Manual from the Polaris site http://www.polarispool.com/Pressure/Polaris-3900.aspx It will show you how to check the wheel rpm and how to adjust the thrust jet and check and adjust the float.

No My polaris hose keeps getting tangled up, how

Remeasure the pool cleaners hose to verify that it is adjusted to the proper length for the pool shape. With the Polaris operating, check that the swivels in the hose and the hose connections turn freely. Make sure feed hose is floating. With the Polaris turned off, spin each of the wheels. All wheels should turn together.

Polaris 380 wheels not turning

If your Pol wheel sometimes stops turning and you could force it half a turn to make it go again. Chances are that you have the same problem as mine: HAIR GETS AROUND THE AXIL OF THE DRIVE WHEEL. This can be fixed by first removing the wheel cap with a flat head screwdriver, then remove the retaining clip that holds the wheel in place. (Be careful not to lose the clip!). Remove the wheel and remove the hair around the axil. Put things back in reverse order. You are set.

Polaris 280 front wheel doe not touch pool floor

Try moving the float closest to backup valve slightly. This can help it stay flat on bottom. Mine was riding on its back wheel and kept climbing too high and getting tail stuck in skimmer...and now it is riding smooth across pool floor now.

My polaris runs but there is no suction. Any

Inside the part where the bag clicks onto the large circle outlet on the top are two little valves. Sometimes these get clogged by algae. Use a thin wooden skewer to poke the algae through then replace your line hose onto the pool return. Everything should work now.

The wheels on my polaris 360 don't turn

I just took my 360 apart. There were broken nylon hose clamps that got into impeller and drive gears. A simple 10 minute fix.

Polaris 280 - tank track keeps coming off

I battled with the track falling off for over a season. The pool guys said they fixed it. Tried the previous solution to adjust middle wheel but no luck. My solution was to remove the left wheel and the tank (to get to the screws). The wheel mount allows for minor adjustment but it is also reversible. Turn the mount around and this will extend the wheel base much more. Mine ran for several hours after doing this and so far the track stays on.

3900 goes round circles and stays in deep end

I had the issue of Polaris 3900 going in circles and staying on the deep end for a while before I figured out the problem. In some cases the lone wheel connected directly to the gearbox turns faster than the wheels connected to the chain causing it to veer right because of slippage. When this happens check to see if the chain is secure. It should be tight enough so that the tensioner does not touch the wheel sprocket. In my case I had to remove some 6 links from the chain and once I did this it started working well. When you disassemble the unit you will see a sticker with a diagram of the drive chain on the feedpipe. Check that the angle of the tensioner is consistent with the diagram so that it does not touch the sprocket. s-l640-undefined-undefined-5.png

My backup valve seems to be suirting a small

Your back up valve probably needs the internals replaced. With the backup stuck in one position the water bleeding from it keeps the head from getting enough power to rite itself. While the leak pulls back on the head to make it worse. This is a simple unit to replace. Open the back up valve and the internals just drop out, then a new one just drops in.

Polaris 280 not climbing pool walls

I had recently done maintenance on the Polaris, and when replacing the wheels had put the back wheel on upside down. The axle is off center on the mounting block, so upside down means the back wheel is a little farther away from the idler wheel than it should be. The effect is that the wheel touches the idler wheel, and looks fine, but when in the water and under pressure it loses contact with the idler wheel, so you don't get power from the back wheel. I found this by putting marks on each of the wheels to count rotations while the Polaris was moving around the pool. It was then easy to see that the back wheel was slipping.

My pool pump works great until I turn the Polaris PB4 60 on. They are both on the same water line. After 15 minutes the pump overloads and shuts down. The voltage is 240. Wired correctly.

I'm not sure which pump fails after 15 minutes. Is it the main pump or the booster pump? The main pump works fine but when the booster pump is activated, one of them fails. What happens if you leave the main pump on and only activate the booster pump? Will the booster pump run indefinitely as well? They both share the same supply line. What have you checked so far? How old are both pumps?Do you pumps sound normal? Do the pump motors get abnormally hot? Any recent repairs or new symptoms? Is there a shut off valve on the supply line that has been turned/moved? Please write back with more information.
