Flames coming out the manifold

Adjusting down the gas pressure will only result to more soot formation inside the fire tubes and burners. Make sure that the burners are not clogged (from the neck up to the holes) so that gas will burn only on burner face. Check also that the fire tubes are clean and has no soot formation inside so that flame will go inside it and will not roll back. Make sure also that there are no obstruction on flue riser and no air directed on this area.
Readjust the gas pressure back to the standard as soon as the problem is addressed.

Fryer wont stay lit, only two burners will lite,

Check the gas pressure, it must meet the standard gas pressure written on the nameplate. Check also the quality of pilot flame, poor pilot flame quality will not properly heat up the thermopile which in turn will result in poor fryer operation.

Pitco ssh75 doesnt run yellow

7 flashes on ignition module's diagnostic led indicates that the flame rod is shorted to ground. Check the igniter tip's clearance to the pilot assembly and adjust if necessary. Also check the igniter cable for damaged insulation.

Low gas pressure will produce low flame quality (yellow flame).
Check and remove any dirt or soot on burner holes, and orifice
Burner flame not going inside the fire tube could be due to soot or carbon build up inside the fire tube blocking the flame path, check the inside of the fire tube, if considerable amount of soot is seen, better have them removed.
Yellow flame will cause a lot of problem on fryers if not corrected as soon as possible.
If you have doubt on your gas regulator, better have a qualified service technician to check it.

Why does my Pitco Frialator

If your fryer has computer controller (the one with 8 product buttons and left, right arrow), check the display when you turn off the computer board, it should display "gas 2". If not, you have to change the gas configuration by accessing the programming mode.

Check if the flame quality of the pilot is good. Small amount of voltage generated by thermopile used in energizing pilot main valve coil during fryer operation relies on the quality of pilot flame, also, the thermopile itself should be free of soot or any form of dirt in order for it to absorb the heat from pilot flame.
Check also the gas pressure, it should meet the gas pressure required on the nameplate.

Pitco Fryer will not light up

Check the thermopile, it must be free of dirt or soot so that it can absorb enough heat from pilot flame and in turn can generate the right amount of voltage to energize pilot and burner coils.
Check also the gas pressure, it should be of standard as required on the unit's nameplate.

My pilot light is out

Pilot assembly is located between the two middle burners, this is where the pilot is lighted. You have to turn the gas valve knob to pilot position then push it while lighting the pilot assembly.

Check the hi limit sensing bulb, it should not touch the fire tube, when it does, it will sense high temperature which will trip its mechanical contacts and will shut pilot and burner flames.
Make also sure that the thermopile is free of soot or any form of dirt and is properly heated by the pilot flame.

45c+s pitco. Pilot will not

If the hi limit (overtemp) tripped on temperature much lower than 450F ( hi limit cut off temperature is 450F ) it needs to be replaced
Check for any dirt or clog on pilot orifice.
Check the thermopile, it should be free of soot or any form of dirt. If it is clean and could not hold pilot flame during start-up, chances are, it is bad and needs replacement. You can verify electrical output of thermopile using a volt meter set at millivolt, when properly heated, it generates 500 to 750 millivolts.
Check also your gas tank, pressure may be low.

I have a 40c+ss pitco fryer.the pilot will go out

Check if your pilot flame sufficiently heats thermopile during operation and make sure also that it is free of soot or any form of dirt, thermopile generates small amount of electricity to energize pilot and main valve of the gas valve for pilot and main burner operation. This electricity passes through hi limit mechanical contacts. Hi limit on fryers act as safety device which will shut down pilot and burner flame when oil temperature reaches 450F.
If your fryer is set at 350F and over shoots up to 450F (which will trip hi limit and shut down pilot and burner flame), the thermostat is not good, but, if hi limit trips on temperature much lower than 450F, hi limit is bad.

I have a pitco 12 fryer properly converted to run

If the wires on hi limit were cut and shorted, it is possible that the hi limit is bad and needs to be replaced as soon as possible because it is the safety device of the fryer.
Hi limit is designed to cut burner flame in case oil temp reached 450F to avoid further damage on life and property.
Washers need to be tightened/ replaced to correct burner alignment. It is not safe to operate a fryer with misaligned burners.
