Hi, I love my

Hi there, I had the same problem. My baby monitor used to work fine, and then all of a sudden it wasn't picking up my baby's cries. I used to be able to hear the static in the background, but I couldn't even hear that anymore. If I pressed the "sensitivity" button on the side of the parent unit, I could hear the static and my baby, but after a minute it would shut off. Very frustrating! It turns out that somehow the sensitivity had been set to low. (Maybe this had something to do with the time I let my baby play with it...) I turned the sensitivity back up to high and it worked fine.To set the sensitivity, press and hold the sensitivity button (located on the side of the unit) for about one second. There will be a number of blue lights that light up on the front -- the more lights that light up the higher the sensitivity is. (Mine was set at 2 out of 5, not very sensitive.) While the lights are on, press the + button (located on the face of the unit) to increase the sensitivity (or press the - button to decrease it, but that is probably not what you want to do if you are reading this post.) Press + until all 5 blue lights are on, and you'll be at max sensitivity. (You can adjust it later if this is too sensitive, once you find out of this fixes your problem.)After a minute, your baby monitor will set itself to the sensitivity level that you set. So if the sensitivity level is really low, the monitor will seem to turn "off" after a minute. If it is high, you should still hear some static.Hope this answer helps someone! I am really glad I don't have to take this unit back, I like it.

Where can i buy a

My wife and I have the same monitor in the picture on this FixYa site. The battery pack is basically two AAA nickel metal hydride rechargeable batteries. Remove the old battery pack. Cut the paper that binds the batteries and plastic pieces in place. We bought a pack of rechargeable batteries at Radio Shack. I cut a piece of metal coat hanger about 2/3" long. I then bent it in half forming a squashed U. I placed the piece of hanger in the "top" (w/o holes) piece of plastic and placed the new batteries in the plastic piece (realize that the RH battery needs to have "+" down and the LH battery (-) down). I also slid the bottom piece onto the batteries too. I used some electrical tap to hold the batteries and plastic pieces together (wrapped around the assembly). Snap it in...it will fit slightly tighter than the original, but will work just fine. One could possibly forgo the hanger piece and maybe use some aluminum foil. I figured the coat hanger is a better conductor.

I have Philips AVENT DECT

Hi ghadah83,

Doesn't appear there is a fix for a 'broken screen,' however, you may want to visit the Philips Support Site to look further into your issue:

You can also reach Consumer Care by calling 1-800-542-8368. Below is an FAQ that might help, too.

Question
Why does my parent unit not turn on when I place it on the charging base? Answer

Your battery may be flat. It may take up to 1 hour before you can use your baby monitor again. If this happens, we recommend that you fully recharge your battery before use.

Hope this helps. Let me know by rating this solution. Thanks!

What size is the bolt

Hi Winterhawk.

I think you'll find all camera tripod mount stuff is termed 1/4-20. That's 0.25 inches diameter, 20 threads per inch.

Obviously you want to make your bolt short so you don't crack the camera case, strip the bolt, or otherwise get into trouble.
