Power surge
Connect the camera whilst it is switched off....then when you power on...it will ask if you want to connect via PC or bridge....if that still throws up power surge...you need to use a different cable as the power ballast on the cable is faulty.It is much easier to just use a card reader....cheap off eBay.

Normally when camera gets wet, first remove battery, use dry facial quality tissue to wipe water, keep camera in a/c so that whatsoever moisture inside camera evaporates due to low humidity in AC room for 24 hours . Take hair drier set in low heat mode holding minimum 6 inches away from camera blow warm air in battery compartment, mirror compartment, memory card slot for 2minutes each. Wait for cooling down to room temperature. Put battery switch on. It should work. Wet camera if you switching on main board get short due to flash voltage in side camera.

Before you do anything just make sure that the battery you use is a hot one. Then also check to see if you can reset the camera software to factory defaults - you may have to contact mfg for this. If no positive results you may have to resort to repair provided it is cost effective - may not be.
