Thats a slightly difficult problem. Have you tried the card on another reader? Just to eliminate the possibility that the card is not good. If it works on another reader the card reader you have may be bad or somehow got disconnected.

Nor am I.A 6Tb hard drive cost around $850.You need to check if the Pelco can support a hard drive as large as this and it will need the operating system installed on this hard drive,The Pelco may have a slot to install a second hard drive.

Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.
Connect the keyboard
Reconnect the AC power..
Turn the computer on.
If the keyboard is detected, you are "good-to-go".
Otherwise, take the computer to a qualified technician, for professional trouble-shooting & repair.

If the recovery software is on CD, it should work just fine. You could even replace your older hard disk with one having a greater capacity.

I have never work on this model yet, but the power supply voltages and caps will be the first palce to look. May be you should open it up and inspect the pwoer supply module first.

Or www.digikey.com just make sure to use caps with low ESR, 105c, high ripple current, long life rating such as PANASONIC FM or FC series.

First thing I would recommend is to get a flash light and shine on the surface of the screen where the Pelco name normally appears when first turned on. Next press the power button and watch at the center of the display. If you see a gray image of the Pelco name then the ccfl backlighting is no longer functioning. I have been able to order replacement ccfl lamps and if need be inverters that drive those lamps. These part can be purchased from http://www.lcdparts.net/. Disassembly of the LCD display is required as well as some soldering.

Commonly there are 2 defective capacitors near the switching transistor located on the power supply PCB that fail causing a no power issue. After replacing these capacitors power on and check operation for any further issues.

First disconnect the plug. Wait 5 min. Plug back in. Then press the menu button and while holding it, switch it on. This should do the trick for most models.
