Only one channel works on my amp. ?

It depends on brand and size amp... what type of amp. Ask yourself...if it was cheap when you purchased it. It may be cheaper to buy a new one. Please tell me what type and brand. We can go from there.

Peavey CS-800 PA power amp 1 channel is out

Dear FixYa Customer,

In reference to:
peavey AMPLIFIER, 1000 WPC, DDT, 8/4/2 OHMS => Model PV2000...
peavey CS-800 PA power amp 1 channel problem
listed on FixYa Site.....

I read this review of a new PEAVEY Amp @
http://www.musiciansnews.com/live_sound/49/peavey_pv900_stereo_pro_power_amplifier.shtml

"The new PV Series power amps retain their two-channel design, high power points and exclusive peavey features and technologies—such as DDT compression and Turbo-V Cooling. The PV 900 delivers 300 Watts per side into 4 Ohms, 180 "

This makes me believe they've had problems with the channel on other models like the one your trying to fix!

I'd try them direct at this point in your attempt to fix this problem. It looks like they have a great PEAVEY CUSTOMER SUPPORT SITE which I always say "You Should Call 1st!" @

I powered my Peavey XR1212 board on and it keeps flashing on and off as though something was touching together inside.

Hi Sean! Same problem. Initially the LEDs flashed on and off. In the end the LEDs finally stopped flashing and and just blinked once when I turned it on.I took it to a Peavey repairer and found that a couple of transistors were blown He ended up replacing the board. He seemed to think that dodgy speaker leads may have caused the problem. Maybe the flashing is just a warning. Don't ignore it! Hope this helps.

Change the voltage from 240v to 120v

Hello,

Unless there is a 240/120 switch on the back, this amplifier cannot change voltage. The only way is to replace the power transformer, and when you do that you need to use the exact model transformer Peavey uses for the 120 version. I have also seen differences in handling power outside of just a different transformer for USA/Euro models.
The differences between these two market models might be beyond what is cost-effective to convert.

If it is the Peavey blazer 158, they go for as cheap as 100 bucks here in the states. Or buy one new for 120.00 bucks and 4.99 shipping: http://www.dcmusicstore.com/Peavey-blazer-158-guitar-amplifier

Best advice: sell it for what ever you can get and buy one here.

Hope this helps!

My peavey 218 subs are crarking or sound

Hello Sir, Hi, distorted sound can be caused by several factors, one would be that the source, overdrives the power amps. You need to lessen the signal, if the source has a volume control set it to half. Another is the power amp itself is defective, The likely culprit it the Integrated power amp. this should be checked by a technician. and lastly the loudspeakers, to test just simply swap the other channel driver unit to the questionable one. check If the sound returns to normal. Several factors also are low voltage supply, leaking capacitors. there are no user serviceable parts here.

My peavey 5150 2 will power on but no sound....

It APPEARS that the preamp tube heaters are run from DC source while the latter ones and the power output tubes are run on AC.

Check the 6.3 volts AC going to the power amp tube.

That heater power is fed through fuse F2.

I suspect you will find that fuse has a bad fuseholder or is blown. A failure in the transformer is possible and I hope that is not the case.

A heater short in a tube is possible but doesn't happen often. Replace the fuse ONCE only and if it blows again investigate why. Could be bad wiring or a bad socket or an internal short within one of the unlit tubes. Thoose are rare but still possible.

This should work. I use a similar setup for break music at small gigs. I would check the cable and the output of the unit itself again. .

Problem with the setup of the mono bi amp feature using peaveys cs3000h amplifier

My recommendation would be to double check the back of you crossover and make sure everything is hooked up correctly. If you crossover is convertible like my DBX223 xl is from Stero to Mono and Three way to two way the connections on the back changes roles.
