Yes - if you connect to the Internet with a DSL or cable modem, you can test the Internet connection using a LAN cable. If you setup the router first then you do not know if you have a modem or a router problem.

Hello Rob,

Please first update the firmware of the router and then check. If the firmware update is not available then try to replace the router. If you want to replace the router then purchase the Netgear router.

See if there is a reset button on the back of the router.

You won't get internet connection that way because there is no connection between the first parkervision and the 2nd one.
Best way is use only one parkervision router. Connect WAN port to modem for internet, 1st lan port connect to your pc and 2nd lan port connect to 2nd pc in other room. 2nd way is, use only one parkervision. Connect WAN port to modem for internet, 1st lan port connect to your pc, setup wireless SSID and connect your 2nd pc to this router for internet wirelessly. Assuming your 2nd pc has wireless capability.

Go into your administration of the router, there is a setting for the type of network....ie: open, WEP, WPA. If you use an open network with a WEP key (64 bit), that will force each computer that connects to your network to have the 10 digit password or key that you make up and put into the router.

If you need information on accessing the administration function of your router, let me know. You should have gotten an install disk which will access this function or you access it thru an internet explorer page.

Connect your router to computer with ethernet cable then you can access it with following default link. http://192.168.1.1 or http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.15.1 or http://192.168.2.1 If you are not able to access it with above ip then check your computers ip address gateway ip is your router ip try with it. Then it ask for user name and password. Type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or "password" or blank. Then you can see configuration page of router. If you are still not able to access router with above ip then you need to RESET it for that press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router then all settings defaults..Then you can access it with above method. . Then click on wireless->wireless security->WEP security there is code password note down it or enter new password then save setting s and restart router. then you can connect wireless with new password.
