Wireless connection problems

Not exactly an ideal solution, but why not buy a cheap USB wifi card, install the software, and use that to access the net? Usually less of a hassle than trying to repair an onboard wireless device, and the plug-in ones are now quite dependable, and cheap.

My monitor display has rotated itself 90 degrees

on the front of the toughbook there are 4 small buttons, the 3rd from the left which has a right angle symbol with a double headed arrow in it rotates the screen 90 degrees each time you press it. this is probably how you got it like that in the first place.
