Suddenly it will not take
Welcome to Fixya
Sounds like the problem is the LCd screen already. Have you tried doing a hard reset to your palm? The data in your palm can only be transferred using Hotsync. Try uninstall/install the software again to the new computer. May i know the Windows OS of the new computer and what is the model of your Palm.

Upgraded from windowXP to windows
Hi,
Welcome to Fixya. Please go to the link below it will teach you on how to sync your old palm 150 to windows 7. The reason why you can't sync your zire 150 to Windows 7 pc is that orignal CD's driver isn't compatible with seven.
Windows 7 and Vista Hotsync

I would like to give my Zire 31 to a friend but
Do a HARD RESET on your PALM ZIRE 31.
A hard reset will erase everything on your device. All your data will be removed, and formats, preferences and other settings are restored to their factory default settings.
- Press and hold the Power (on/off) button on the front panel of your device.
- While holding Power, use an unfolded paper clip, or the reset tool at the tip of your stylus. Gently press and release the RESET button inside the hole on the back panel of your device (where's the reset hole?).
- If you see a progress bar (see below), keep holding the Power button.
- Next, the Palm Powered screen will appear. Release the Power button when you see it.
- You'll see a screen that asks: Erase all data? YES = "up" button NO = any other button. Press UP on your 5-way navigator to complete the hard reset.
When i start up my
Avia,
Sounds like a software problem. How long ago did you buy this product? I would have it swapped out if you could. There isn't much you can do from home. You need an expert to look at it. If you bring it back to the store that you bought it from, they should be happy to exchange it for you, free of charge. It is rarely the customers fault when stuff like that happens. Doesn't sound like water damage to me, so I'd be very surprised if they didn't exchange it for you. You may have to get it reconfigured if you can't exchange it. You'd have to bring it to the store you bought it from and have someone do it for you. This may cost a small charge. The good news is either one of these methods should leave you with a perfectly working Palm Zire for no charge to a very small fee. Hope this helped!

My Palm Zire M150 touch
the screen says use stylus to tap center of target ...i do that and it goes to upper left corner i tap and it goes lower right corner and back and forth between the to corners?
I NEED a copy of the owners manual for the Palm
Found a Zire PDF manual "Handbook for Palm (tm) Zire (tm) Handheld" at the following URL "http://nettopdf.info". You can also do an Internet search for PDF "zire_ug.pfd". The graphics are for a Zire Mono M150 but I believe this is a general manual for most early Zire models. Found on 2/6/2011.
Fell in water, how to dry out and recover?
First DO NOT TURN IT ON NO MATTER WHAT
If you do turn it on when wet then there is a high chance you will short the device
I would lay it out in some towels for a few days and let the water dry out. You can help it by blow drying every so often.
Wait at least 2 days before trying to power it up. IF it does power up, try to use the Palm Desktop software and get all the data out of the device before you actually start using it.

Hello.
Unfortunately, the only way to restore the address info and calendar is if you have been backing up your info from your Palm to your computer. Use the bluetooth (if you have) or connect the cradle to hotsync and transfer all your info back to your Palm.
Hope this helps.
