Onkyo nr 555 stuck on recovery:NET
Hello
Did you update the AVR over the internet?
If so the device wont work anymore.
You need to service the device in a nearest Onkyo service department.
Regards

Stuck in protect mode
i believe protect mode is because you have the wrong impedence speakers, they are too low (4 ohm? 6 ohm?) it chols work with 8 ohm speakers
Volume knob not working on my onkyo tx-ds656 lost remote everything else works fine...
"Volume knob not working on my onkyo tx-ds656"replace the volume knob but check the volume control IC first such as voltage and whether an analog signals come out by an oscilloscope.and " lost remote " Check if the onkyo remote is working, by:(1)point a mobile or a smart phone camera at an onkyo remote control.(2)Don't take any photo.(3)Now the remote picture is on the mobile or smart screen.(4)Press any remote control key.(5)White flashing light can be seen if remote is ok.(6)If remote is fine, replace the remote senor on tx-ds656 with same part number.

Having trouble getting streamed music from my PC to an Onkyo TX-NR656 receiver
First the OS must be win 7 or above; XP does notsupport bit streaming. Second, display card or motherboard on board display card must supportbit streaming. Third the software must also support bit streaming.See photos:https://m.review33.com/forum_msg.php?db=3&tstart=0&s=&topic=75170724185351&number=9&sort=1

Hi, Onkyo TX SR 705 have a super cap for memory presets ou eeprom?? When the power is down and it loose the presets, whats the problem?? Tks
“Hi, Onkyo TX SR 705 have a super cap for memory presets ou eeprom?? ”Yes, it may have a 5.5V cap with 0.1F for memory to use .When the power is down and it loose the presets, whats the problem?? Tks Don't worry, it will be charged up when the amp is On. The longer the time it is on, the longer the time it charged. For your case, replace the cap mentioned above can fix the problem. I will post the photo later. After checking the onkyo TX-SR705 service manual, however, I did not find any capacitor of 5.5V 0.1F on the schematics. The EEPROM is powered by a polar capacitor. See photo. Step of repairing (1)Download the onkyo TX-SR 705 service manual.(2)Find out the EEPROM located at Main Microprocessor Unit.(3)Replace the capacitors of epprom(4)If the problem doesn't solve, copy all data form the old EEPROM by a SPI EPPOM reader.(5)Buy a new SAME MODEL EEPROM and copy the old data to the new one. (6)remove the old defective one from the circuit board(7)put the new one with data copied to the circuit board.
