The 5 rollers are operated by 9 small gears that a run by the center gear which is turned by the motor on your machine. The gears in between the rollers help drive the next roller as you move outward from the center. The gears are made of what looks like pot metal, (cheap junk). The teeth break on the gears easily and either stick or won't operate the next roller. You can take the unite apart using a thin screw driver an pry the 6 flange on the drive side and straigten the flange with needle nose plyers. It then prys apart. If any teeth are broken, you can only buy a whole new grill part from Nostalgia Electrics. Cost is 20.00. They won't just sell the junk gears

The metal bottom tray of
What I did on my machine is I took the height, width, and depth measurements of the pan, then went to my local metal fabrication shop and had them make a custom pan out of stainless steel. It is a lot cheaper than replacing it with the original part due to the fact that it will rust all over again.
Hope this helps you.

Richard

The glass on my popcorn
(spray or pump) Citrus degreaser - works great on grease/oil-spattered oven cooktops too.
This will not leave a odor or taste on your popcorn if you follow the degreaser with a
regular soap/dishwashing detergent (or Formula 409) and water wipedown.

The instructions say make sure kettle motor is plugged in. Turn unit ON with switch on crown of machine. Allow unit to run for 3-5 minutes to heat up kettle. Turn unit off. Add 2 teaspoons of your favorite popcorn cooking oil to the kettle. Then add 1/4 cup of popcorn kernels to the kettle. Turn the unit on and close the door. When popping sound slows down turn the unit OFF. Flip the kettle over with the crank handle to empty the kettle. Repeat process until desired amount of popcorn has been popped.
