Driver download

Wireless routers don't need drivers. Maybe your wireless adapter needs drivers.

How do you sign up with netopia network's internet

You need to contact your local phone company or DSL reseller. Netopia makes the modem/router, but doesn't offer service. Note that your service provider may or may not support this particular model of equipment on their network. You're probably better off shopping for the service first and then shopping for the modem/router to use on it. The equipment is realatively inexpensive, while the service is not.

Connection with Netopia Cayman 3347w is very slow and becoming unbearable

Explaining an opinion on DSL's speed doesnt help fix a problem. Not to mention the fact that DSL is on a digital subsciber line, your own phone number, not the neighbors, you have it backwards, its cable that can have its speed impaired if all your neighbors go on.

Anyway, I am an expert with netopias. I trouble shoot them all day long on people's DSL connections. The symtopms that MacWyb is describing sounds like he has degregation of service that needs to be fixed by maintenance. They can do whats called a rip and rebuild, where they take off the virtual circuit and virtual path (vp and vc) and then build it right back, this clears this type of problem up quite often. It would also be a loose wire at the D-mark, the gray box on the side of your house, thats happened to me twice now. Or, It could be you're on a redback that has too many customers assigned to it, maintenance, if this is the case, would have to move your circuit, assign it to antoher redback, or brass router, whatever they're on.

In anycase, It means a call in to technical support with your ISP. They will create a trouble ticket to look at it for you.

This is all taking for granted you dont have a buzz on your phone (which would make it a telco issue, a call to your local phone company to fix the line), and that you have all your DSL filters installed on every phone in the house, including fax machines, etc.

How to change my router's MAC address Netopia 3397G

Using a router is a great way to create a home or office network without having to spend a lot of money. As long as you have a broadband Internet connection through an Internet service provider, you can use a router to get all of the computers in your home or office connected. If you have chosen Netopia as your router brand of choice, you will have to configure it to make your network operable. Power on your Netopia router, broadband modem and computer. Open your Internet browser. Type the router IP address, 192.168.1.254, into the address bar. Hit "Enter" on your keyboard. Log into your Netopia router with the username and password assigned to you by your Internet service provider. Select "Expert Mode." After entering expert mode, you will see a menu bar at the top of the configuration window. Click on the "Home" tab. Many Internet service providers will ship your Netopia router to you preconfigured. If it is preconfigured all of the fields, such as IP address, subnet mask and default gateway will already be populated. If the fields are not populated, proceed to the next step. Click on the "Configure" tab. Select "WAN." Select "ATM." Enter the "VPI" and "VCI" numbers provided by your Internet service provider. Choose your encapsulation option. For example, "Routed IP," "PPPOE," etc... Click "Submit." Select "WAN" on the left side of your configuration window. Choose the "VCC1" option. Select the option to "Enable Interface." If you do not have your own IP address, choose the option to "Obtain an IP Address Automatically." If you do have your own IP address, uncheck the automatic IP address box. Type in your IP address if you have your own. Enter your subnet mask. This information can be obtained from your Internet service provider. Select the "NAT" option if you are using your own private IP address for your network connection. Click on "Submit." Select "WAN" on the left side of your configuration window. Ensure that there is a check in the "Gateway Option" box and "IP Address" is selected as the "Interface Type." Type in your "Default Gateway" address. This can be obtained from your Internet service provider. Click "Submit." Select the "Configure" tab at the top of your window. Select "LAN." Select "Enable Interface." Type in the IP address for your router and subnet mask. Click "Submit." Click on the yellow caution symbol on the top right hand side of your window to save all configuration changes. Click on "Save." Restart your computer for the changes to become effective. http://www.netopia.com/support/hardware/technotes/CQG_121.html
