I cannot access the netgear settings.

to access the router you will need to open up your web browser and type in 192.168.0.1,it will then ask you for a user name and password ,the user name is admin, the password is password, that will get into the netgear utility for the router, that info can also be found on the bottom of router,if that doesnt work then you will have to reset the router to the default settings by holding in the reset button for about ten seconds located on the back ,you will have to use something that is small enough to depress it,you have to reset it while it is on,if you got it used then you should reset it anyway so that you can configure it according to your situation,ok have fun and good luck, you can get detailed info from netgears website.

  • Cannot access the NETGEAR device web interface

Workaround: var js_4;function initPsDisplay(){js_4 = new PsDisplay({"info":{"controller_name":"PsDisplay","name":"PsDisplay_4","type":"FormField","w_id":4},"attrs":{"label":"","tabindex":"","field_name":"solution","cf_id":"","table":"answers","highlight":0},"js":null});js_4.init();}YAHOO.util.Event.onDOMReady(initPsDisplay); Resolution:
If you have changed the default password and have forgotten the password, you may need to reset the NETGEAR device to factory default settings.

When a NETGEAR device resets, it goes back to the state when it was new — all information that was entered by hand is lost! Examples are critical things you need to get online, such as ISP username, ISP password, IP addresses, wireless security keys, and ports and services that were opened. It all needs to be re-entered.
So, have your ISP information before resetting the router.
Naturally, if you moved to a new city, or if you bought a used router, the old information in the router may not be of use to you. Contact your ISP if you can't connect any computer directly to the Internet.

Reset for most routers with a reset button on the rear panel
Write down configuration information such as IP addresses, security keys, opened ports and services, etc., that you modified. (The default username is admin and the password is either password or 1234. Try these before resetting the router.)
  1. Press the reset button on the back until the test light blinks. This takes about 10 seconds. (To avoid accidental resets, the small button is recessed. Use a pen or paperclip to access it.)
  2. Release the button.
  3. Wait for the router to reboot.
  4. Log in with the default password. If the router configuration was not cleared, try these additional steps AFTER the router has finished rebooting.
  5. Unplug the router's power.
  6. Press and hold the reset button. While the button is held down, reconnect router's power.
  7. Continue to hold the reset button for 20 seconds after reconnecting the power.
  8. Wait for the router to reboot.
  9. Log in with the default password.

Hope this helps.......

God Bless.......

How do I get my password?

If you've forgotten the password to your Netgear router, then you're locked out from making any changes. The only way to recover a Netgear router password is to reset the device to factory default settings. You can then set a new password and recover your ability to configure the router.

Default access

You didn't supply the Model of NetGear device. Push and hold the reset button for 30 seconds or so, release. This will reset to default settings. Reconfigure the SSID and Security settings. How to reset netgear wgr614 to factory default

You can reset your Netgear router to the factory settings from within the router manager. The reset procedure removes all user-configured settings and returns the router to the original factory settings. For this reason, only reset the router if you encounter problems that can't be solved with other methods.Step 1: Check that your Netgear router is properly connected with your system or not. If it is OK, then press reset button on Netgear router for at least 10 seconds. The 'test' light should flash during this process. Step 2: Now open browser and enter Netgear's IP address into the address bar. Generally, '192.168.0.1' is the Netgear router IP address but you can find specific IP address in Netgear router manual. Step 3: Now enter your default username and password to log in to router.Step 4: Click 'Erase' button under the 'Revert to Factory Default Settings'. This process will erase all your previous changes that have been made to the router and restore the configuration settings to factory setting. Don't interrupt the process until the process is finished. Once the router's 'test' light has stopped blinking and the configuration page you are on has refreshed, the router has been reset. Info on how to reset the router

You can factory reset the router using the small button on the back, hold it in for 30 seconds with the power on to the router. This will clear all settings from the router including the password, so you will need to set up the router again after the reset.

I need to reset or find my origional password.

If you have changed the default password, you need to reset the router to the factory settings to get in with the default user and password (user admin and password as password, or if that doesn't work try 1234 - these are the default password for NetGear routers). Note that you will lose the ISP settings and wireless settings when you reset the router.

Here's a video on how to reset the router to the factory default settings: http://kbserver.netgear.com/media/flash/training/Troubleshooting/NG_WGR614V9Router_TS_LostPassword.html

Double-click on the LAN icon on the bottom right by your clock and go to the IP that is shown for your default gateway. That will take you to your router, than just manually reset everything.

I have a netgear readyNAS NV+ that i want to reset

Whether you bought a used Netgear router or just forgot your own password, you can reset it and start over. This is not an unusual problem, so Netgear has made resetting and restarting their routers a simple task Connect all of your devices. If your Netgear router is not already connected, it should be plugged in, with one Ethernet cable connecting it to your computer and a second Ethernet cable connecting it to your computer's modem. Locate the reset button on the rear of your Netgear router. The reset button is a small inset button and requires a pointed object to reach it. Use a fine-tipped pen to hold the button down for at least 10 seconds. The test light should flash during this process. Open your Internet browser and enter the Netgear router's IP address into the address bar to access the router's information. Generally, Netgear routers use the IP address 192.168.0.1, but the specific IP address will be listed in the router's manual. Attempt to log in to the router with the default username and password. The default username is "admin" and the default password is "password." If the router's username and password were not cleared away, unplug the router and try holding down the reset button. While you are holding down the reset button, plug the router back in. Log in to the router using the default "admin" username and "password" as the password. You can now reset your information, rename your router and enter your own username and password. http://kbserver.netgear.com/media/flash/training/Troubleshooting/NG_WGR614V9Router_TS_LostPassword.html

Need to reset netgear router wpn824v2

Don't tell me you tried to upload the firmware from a wireless connection.

It's probably bricked. You could act stupid and send it back to Netgear, claiming it just died...(it did right?) and in the meanwhile, Staples is selling 624's for $40 this week.

How to reset rangemax wireless-n 150 router?

Reset means that you will restore it to factory defaults which will delete all of the configuration settings of the router and will leave you not connecting to internet and wireless as well, but if you really want to reset it, just simply press the black button at the bottom of the N-150 router, press and hold it for at least 15 seconds. Once the lights on the router starts blinking, that means that it is successfully restored to factory defaults.
