it sounds like the laser lens is missing, undo the 4 screws and flip the laser assembly over to check if lens is on, these unit have a common problem with the lens falling out. If lens is out and you find the lens it can be glue back in place, Use white general purpose glue NOT crazy glue as it will cloud up the lens.Note if you remove the lens assembly ribbon cable you will need to short the pin on the cable to prevent static charge destroying the laser, this must be done before removing ribbon cable, once you plug ribbon cable back in remove the short on the ribbon cable

The DR1o might have a Sankyo transport and they have sense fingers that become tarnished. This needs to be serviced to make the deck work. It is possible that the deck is still in play mode which blocks the eject from taking place. Unplug the unit and open it up and rotate the worm gear with a finger and the door will eventually open up but do not force things as understand the size of motor in the unit that normally turns the worm gear.

Hi,I would suggest you to first trying unplugging/ switching off your device for 5 minutes. This restores and refreshes the device. Go for it

I have a Nakamichi Receiver 2, and it's been working great for years. Today it "froze." It's stuck on phono, but it's not playing anything. Any ideas?
Hello Dakin, check if you can change the entries from the control
If you manage to change, the problem can be found in the Nakamichi input change switches, you should check if they make good contact, for which you would have to disarm the front of the equipment to access the solder contacts of the switches and with a tester in the continuity position, corroborate that when pressing the button, the circuit is closed indicating the tester, condition of continuity
Good luck with the tests
