You need to access the UPS software (ViewPower) via a USB cable between a computer and the Mustek PowerMust 745. The documentation for the PowerMust 745 Plus indicates the USB interface works with Windows 98 SE through Windows 8. There may also be Linux and Mac versions of the software: https://www.mustek.de/drivers/ . Note: if you have a Windows 10 or 11, the drivers/software may not work. Most of the time when the LCD screen has gone black it means that the ribbon cable is either loose or a capacitor or or a resister in the main board went bad . Try moving the screen around a little bit to see if the picture is going to show up on the screen on your portable DVD player . You can try returning the item or get it repaired

Move the contents of the internal memory to the SD card.

Check to see if it is not the lens, but rather the fact that the little tab on the lid that closes the disc compartment is not making firm contact with the mechanism that tells the disc to play. I had the same problem (player would play for a couple of minutes, then it's stop and I'd get an "Open" message. I called Mustek and they unhelpfully suggested various tricks to do with the lens carriage, none of which worked. On my own a carved a matchstick to the shape of the tab on the lid, and stuck it in there. That worked! Eventually (since you can't watch it with the lid up), I just put some duct tape (a little pice) around the tab, and that has worked like a charm. Makes it hard to open the lid again (I use a knife to pry it up), but hey--the player works now!

Unfortunately, there is no compatible driver for win 7. THe Mustek support center says the following:
Scanners designed to work with older versions of Windows may not function properly after upgrading your computer's operating system.
If Windows® 7 is not listed on the product driver download page for a specific product, no support is offered for Windows® 7. Newer scanner products available will have support for Windows® 7.

The player actually loads divx (.avi) format files. It does not loads some .mp4 format files.

i lost my driver

As it is now 12 years old, I doubt if a suitable charger is still available, quite apart from the condition of the batteries after all this time. If I were you, I should bite the bullet and replace it with a more up-to-date model.
