I was told my a jeweler that Movado condiders that. Design defect and they don't produce or offer that rubber insert for sale.

The cover on the back or inside of the back typically they don't have serial numbers just model numbers.

There is no way to find the model # from using the serial #.

These timepieces are delicate, precision devices. Dirt, lint etc. can affect their operation. While most time it is hard for it to enter with the back on - one thing that can happen is oxidation. When wearing it - it reaches body temperature - and taking it off results in rapid cooling. This causes condensation to form inside the case and can eventually lead to oxidation. Bring it to a trusted jeweler for a cleaning and it should be good as new.
