If the radio came with the vehicle when new, (OEM Spec) look in the glove box for a small white sticker, or in the manual for the entertainment system.
Or you can take the Registration document to the dealership and they will give you the code for Free.
Or, you pay a company like www.radiocodes.com a $12 fee for the code based on the serial number of the radio.

What frequency range does you speaker accept and what is the relative dbA for the given frequency within a ported or tuned box or a sealed box with smoother average sound.
I would use your ears and listen to them in your vehicle.

depending on what size the amp is and what wattage subs, you need to unhook speakers from amp and check to see if amp gets power with just remote, power and ground hooked up. If it does, you likely need the next gauge wire because there is a power drop between amp and subs causing power/protect flicker.
If it came with the car, your local dealership will let you have the code based on the VIN Number.

Also there are companies that offer free decoders based on the serial number of the set. This is on the rear of the unit. There also companies that will sell you the code for a small fee.
