Is there a difference between a satellite receiver and a cable receiver?
Bunches. Cable boxes don't receive per se. They unscramble a TV signal that the cable company puts on the cable. A satellite receiver takes a hi frequency RF signal that it recovers from the antenna(dish and electronics) converts it to a lower frequency. It then demodulates the signal and processes the audio and video components so you can see and hear the program.
