Mitutoyo error code E940?
Mitutoyo is a brand that produces precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges. An error code E940 on a Mitutoyo instrument typically indicates a problem with the instrument's communication interface. This can be caused by a variety of issues, such as a problem with the instrument's cable or software, or a problem with the computer or device to which the instrument is connected.
To troubleshoot the issue, you should first check the connections between the instrument and the computer or device to ensure that they are properly connected and secure. If the connections appear to be fine, you may need to update the software on the instrument and computer or device to resolve the issue.

QM-Data 200 Mitutoyo with Optoeye-200. How to change or replace battery please?
Apparently the battery is Circuit Board mounted and is a backup memory battery.

he Li battery is mounted on the printed circuit board in the data processing unit "QM-Data". Do not dispose of the data processing unit by burning it. If the data processing unit is thrown into fire, the battery may leak chemicals, burst, or burn violently. Comply with government regulations regarding the disposal method.

• This error message indicates that the memory backup battery is low, and that if you continue to use the data processing unit "QM-Data", backup will not be performed. Save the part programs and measured data stored in the internal memory of the data processing unit to the floppy disk or to a personal computer. •
Contact your supplier to replace the battery.
It also says changing the battery removes any saved data.
So if you are looking to do it yourself, look for screws to get inside.

How to correct an e671 error message
I realise this question is old, but you never know, might help someone in the future. This particular error is that the probe is not correctly seated, usually the magnets have become slightly loose. The solution is to take the probe head off the cmm, and push the magnets against your surface table or suitable flat surface, this should push the magnets into their correct position. If this doesn't help, it may be that you've managed to break that particular part, if you have a probe rack, try a different probe. Lastly, if you crashed the CMM by hitting something, ensure you didn't bend your probe in the process (and the ruby is still there!), this doesn't help the error code fix, but worth checking as the cmm crashing into something at speed is the most likely cause of this E671 error.

How to turn off a mitutoyo digital caliper code no 500-115
The Mitutoyo 500-115 caliper does not have an off button. It automatically shuts off after two hours of non use. Very frustrating since after just a few times of using the calipers 6+ hours of time has been used on the battery and consequently it doesn't last long. I am in the middle of adding a switched battery holder to my calipers. I have already milled a channel for the wires and tomorrow I do some soldering and two sided 3M tape to mount it to the back. The switched holder is Adafruit 12mm Coin Cell Breakout w/On-Off Switch [ADA1867]. The battery you should use is 1.55V Number 390 (Energizer). We'll see how this turns out. Sick of putting batteries in it. Go figure total cost of all of this is around $15 which includes a new 390 cell from the hardware store. That's about 5 years worth of batteries. Maybe it's the principle of it. At lease now if/when I do replace the battery, no disassembly required.
I have a mitutoyo 500-422 and how do I replace the battery
I also have a Mitutoyo 500-422 Caliper. But mine is strictly solar powered. There is no battery for it. So long as you have 60 lux of illumination on it, it will work fine. Its not suited for darker environments, as it will lose its measurement when the light falls below 60 lux.

What does Mitutoyo error code E380 mean?
These 2 signals are drive prohibition (overtravel) inputs in forward and reverse directions. If Drive Prohibition Input Setting (Pn504) is 1, you can use the setting of Stop Selection (Pn505) to select the operation to be taken upon input of each prohibit signal. If Drive Prohibition Input Setting (Pn504) is 2, drive prohibition input protection (E380) actuates upon input of a drive prohibition.
