You need to get the DC socket replaced, or the original one resoldered. Your power supply may be broken, but it is more likely that it is the socket. Check the cable on the power supply for any breaks or floppiness at the joints. (an indication of a broken core)

hello there u will need a windows 7 dvd with product code to activate just simply go to bios and change boot order to cd rom and boot cd and follow the windows install routine when u are required to install to a partions over rite windows 8 partiion u will have options to do that on install so just follow the instuctions on cd and most of all back up youre personal data ie photos , email and documents mps3 etc hope that helps thanks

if the floppy disk itself is older .. it may be damaged.... otherwise take an old floppy disk you dont need anymore and take a que tip and Alcohol rub the Alcohol on the film of the Floppy disk get it fairly wet but not too wet and insert it and remove it a few times it could solve the problem but note it will destroy the floppy disk your using and give the drive time for the alcohol to dry before putting in another disk... if this seems to do nothing you make have to check your bios settings and ribbon cable to make sure then are set correctly
