Could the on/off switch be shorted? Could check with a volt/ohm meter, or remove and replace.

The switch or knob for that burner is shot. to disconnect that burner first see if there is a fuse that goes to just that burner and take it out. That should stop any power to that burner. If not take the knob out and undo the wires to that switch and put electrical mar rets on the wire ends. Just as a precaution put electrical black tape on the outside of the mar rets to make sure they do not come off. DO NOT try to put these wires back on the switch.

Possibly dead batteries in the tstat. Turn power off, remove tstat , wire red yellow green together and turn unit on. This should make everything work, if it does the problem is the tstat. If you need further help, reach me via phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/thomas_092728000e6acb79

Check vibration eliminators on the feet of the compressors, over time of running in tough conditions they wear out and cause rattling. If this does not fix the problem see below -check amp draw, if amp draw is high windings are wearing out and compressor is running harder, may need replaced - check to make sure your refrigerant charge is correct you could be slugging the compressor -find other ways to isolate compressor operations

Make sure the Thermostat is set correctly! The problem with mine was the temp in the house was colder than my A/C lowest thermostat setting.I had my AC temp setting on 66 degrees. The temp in the house was a little lower so the AC didnt kick on just the fan blowing cool air and no compressor working. The next day it was warmer out and the house temp was 79. So when I powered up the AC set at 66 i heard the compressor kick in and the AC worked fine.
