How to output sound to a 2nd device

If you need an analogue output, you can tap stereo analogue audio by using one of the two sets of "pre-out" RCA jacks on the back of your receiver. These provide "headphone like" output power, and will not overload any analogue input connected to it EXCEPT MIC and PHONO inputs on the 2nd device. If it's digital audio output you need, there's an HDMI monitor out, that will provide digital audio to another HDMI input equipped device. You'll have to get a relatively cheap adaptor if you need this digital audio output in another digital format/connection (like the popular S/PDIF optical or coaxial). aab48f0e-f7e7-4663-ba6f-879a6b357adb.jpg

My receiver sound keeps cutting off after a few minutes

Check its audio output section circuit. Faulty components in it can cause this fault. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. If what you meant was that the composite input is not working specially the video the fault is with the video processor in the input section. Unless a signal check is done the fault cannot be confirmed as it can also relate to a logic gate failure in the input selction.
