Dirt bikes often have a small plastic tube fitted to the petrol cap to allow air into the tank. Sometimes the tiny hole in the fuel cap ( Which most bike have) gets blocked and the engine will run until such time as the vacuum in the tank stops fuel coming through. Got to be worth a check.
