I have a horizontal hold problem when I turn the

You seem to have a fault in your TV for a horizontal failure to synchronize with the horizontal pulses.
SInce the model was not mentioned I suppose this must be an older version. It is possible that the sync IC is not working as it fails to lock the vertical and horizontal pulses to stabilize the circuit.
If the entire sections are on one IC then it might be fault.
Now since as you mentioned that the set works fine initially , you might notice that the IC is heating up too soon and hence resulting in the horizontal shift. If so try to use a- freeze it-Spray on the IC and if this brings back the horizontal. then try to see for any faulty capacitors on the IC section, check the power to the IC.
If not the IC must be replaced.
Have a wonderful New Year.

Microphone makes a static sound

Make sure your connections are clean and tight. There may also be an intermittant or broken wire in the cord. See if you can narrow the problem down by holding some parts of the wire stationary and moving other areas. gently shake the mike with the set off and listen closely for loose parts making noise. (The idea is to eliminate the areas that are good and what's left is broken.) Hope this helps

Contact Enter Tech at http://eng.enter-tech.com/support/inquiry.php and ask about a replacement cable. It sounds like it's wired wrong and I couldn't find any details on the correct wiring on their web site. So, just replacing the cable is the best way out.
