Magellan 1400 gps does not turn on when connected
well it may not be able to be solved without expense.
Do you have an AC charger? if so try to turn iot on when its been connected to the charger for about 10 mins if it comes on when on AC then you will need to change the internal battery/s other than tjhat the circuit is damaged
some models do not have AC chargers
if this is new or under warranty make a claim ASAP as they go out of models so quickly they have a poor warranty system

MRM 700 won't start; screen flashes white . . . help.
stonelinton,
It's not your LCD, otherwise you would have heard the sound of buttons being pushed. If your units first screen is white and there is no logo screen or any legible images, then it's your NAND flash on your main board. The first image produced upon boot is the blue magellan screen. This is produced from the NAND flash and will show it no matter if a hard drive is present or not. After the Magellan screen it pulls images from the hard drive. So, it is the mainboard and the only way to fix it is to send it to Magellan repair and they will have to put in a new mainboard then reprogram your serial number, etc.

Magellan roadmate 2120T too slow after updates
Magellan support was actually pretty good helping me with the exact same issue. The problem (at least in my case) was that the map files were fragmented. I tried using the Windows defragmenter, but that made fragmentation even worse! The Magellan support engineer recommended I download UltraDefrag instead:http://ultradefrag.sourceforge.net/en/index.htmlHere's what I had to do to completely resolve my issue:1. Download and install UltraDefrag2. Connect my GPS to my PC3. Move the MAP directory from my GPS drive (J:) to my hard disk4. In UltraDefrag, make sure Action > Skip removable media is not selected5. Run the optimizer (Ctrl-F7 or Action > Full optimization) after selecting the GPS drive (J: on my computer)6. Copy the MAP files back to the J: drive AFTER optimization has completedI double-checked the fragmentation after the files were copied and got 0%. After disconnecting the GPS from the PC, the unit rebooted and doing an address search no longer takes 15 seconds. POI searchs are also much faster than before.

I need my password back
Power unit up from a completely off state. While it's starting up, hold the Mute and Menu buttons down the entire time. It will start up, then flash. As soon as you see the flash let go of the Mute and Menu buttons. Then, as soon as the lights come on around the unit quickly press and hold the Mute and Menu buttons again. The unit will boot into the Windows CE operating system. You then double click on My Device and delete HDD3 or, if you have a SD card in the slot, cut and paste the HDD3 to the SD card. Power the unit off holding the power button down for 7-10 seconds. Take out the SD card, if you have one in, then power up the unit. It should restart likes it's fresh from the factory. I will not be held responsible for any problems or bricked units! DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!
