sounds like debris between the lens rings. Start by using a vacuum cleaner hose and see if you can get the lens somewhat cleaned.If that does not work, you may consider replacing the lens. hope this helps, good luck.

With the card in the camera, and write-protect turned off, go to the menu system and find the command 'Format', then follow the required steps.

As it appears to be designed to be used with Canon equipment, probably not.

Take the SD memory card out of the camera and with it facing you so you can read the label look on the left hand side and you will see a small slide switch. It should be UP for the card to be in read/write mode, if you switch it down the card is protected so you can read the images but not overwrite. Hope this does the trick :-)

Perform a complete reset as per the instructions in the manual
