I have a ifinder hunt GPS, it will not locate any

With a normal GPS device, when you first switch it on, it needs some time to locate enough satelites. Most of the time it needs at least 5 satelites. Some time should be like minutes and not hours. After the GPS device fond enough satelites, it knows where it is and can when it is switched on again work faster. When you try to let the GPS search for satelites indoors, or without a free view to the sky, it is possible the receiver never can find satelites at all. I don't know if any test of the Lowrance iFINDER Hunt GPS was placed on the net, but that is where you can check how long it should take for the GPS to find enough satelites.

If I get a new Lowrance GPS, can I use my SD card

First use "add gps" and add the original unit and the H20use "receive from gps" to call in the original waypoint file from your sd carduse "send to gps" to save the new waypoint file to the sd cardremember that the original gps file may contain more waypoints than the H20 can hold so you may have to delete some waypoints from the file while in EasyGPSif this is not clear enough, let me know and I will try again. I use the program all the time. I just realized I left something out. EASYgps does not like the Lowrance HDS File version so an extra step is required if you are transferring files from an HDS to an IFinder. Save your HDS waypoints as Version 3 to the SD card and EASYgps will accept them

H20 gps says waiting for nmea gps serial data

Your GPS is looking for an alternative source of NMEA data and is no longer doing it itself. If it doesn't get that data it will continue to look or wait for it. We can disable this function so the GPS relies solely on the data it is receiving through its own antanae. This function can only be changed while in Advanced mode. If you're not running in advanced mode make sure you switch to advanced mode. Once there, go to your Main Menu (from map screen, hit menu twice). In that menu, go and select SYSTEM SETUP. In your System Setup menu you will see an opition, COM PORT. Select COM PORT and hit Enter. You will see three Check boxes (NMEA INPUT, NMEA GPS INPUT, NMEA OUTPUT). Make sure that none of those are checked. Once you are done, you can EXIT out of the menus. Go out and see if you can acquire a Satellite Fix.From:http://www.bruntonoutdoor.com/support.php?category=Atlas+MNS

Will not locate any satilites ( also were satilite

Hi cliffeychane,

You need to go outdoors to an area free from obstructions, such as large buildings and trees. Then turn on your gps by holding down the "Power" button.

Look at the signal icon, in the upper left-hand corner of the touchscreen. Once outdoors, your Gps will pick up a satellite signal. This may take up to 40 minutes. The signal icon is a series of five bars, progressively getting bigger as you move from left to right. When the unit has a good satellite signal, the bars will be shaded green. When the unit does not have a good satellite signal, the bars will either be red, indicating a poor signal, or white, indicating no signal at all. If you don't acquire a signal,

Turn the unit off. Slide the battery cover, located on the back side of the Gps, downward to remove it. Remove the batteries. Leave them out of the unit for 60 seconds to perform a soft reset. Reinsert the batteries and replace the battery cover. Repeat steps 1 through 3.

If the gps still wont find a signal then try removing the SD Card. Then with the unit turned off (and SD card out) press the reset button with a paperclip for 10 seconds. Then put back the SD Card.

Contact lowrance customer support if the unit still will not acquire a signal. If your unit is still under warranty, the company will have you ship the unit back to its facility for repair.

Hope it helps.

Thank you for using FixYa.

I pluged my gps into

If you burned the mother board, no, you'll have to get a new one, if its fused, you might be able to save it, if you are techie oriented, open it yourself and check for fuse, if theres visible marks of burning or charred on the board anywhere, then its gone....

Good luck.

My iFinder H2Oc doesn't ever

I don't want to tell you to throw it away. I would suggest calling Lowrance and telling them that you are having problems with it. They know that this unit has problems and they should either repair it for you or replace it. Their number is 1-800-324-1356

Why won't my H2O lock

Hi, well GPS devices can be difficult to initially setup. you MUST do the initial setup out in the open, outside at least with a clear view of the sky. Now hook it all up and try it now, it can take some time to get all the satelittes.
However at this website below, go right to the bottom.... it indicates that the devices have a fault inherent in them, that causes this problem, so it may be best to go straight to the manufacturer.

Why wouldn't my ifinder h2o c gps not pick up any satalite signal

The most common reasons are thus
1) You do not have the right PORT and BAUD set
Consult the manual for the software.
2) You are noit in a location where the sky is visible to the unit)
move outside and away from buildings or electrical items
3) Your battery power is too low to get a fix

4) nThe SIIRF chip is damaged

I have moisture under the screen of my ifinder

usually the displays are sealed so this doesn't happen.

About all you can do is open anything you can and then place it where it will be warm but not hot, out of direct sunlight and hopefully with some air movement. It might take a week or more before the water is gone.

I would also have a chat with lowrance and see if you can get this replaced under warrenty. If it leaked once it will again.
