LG Washing Machines - Page 9 - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

This suggests a problem with the motor, the bearings or the suspension rods that hold the tub basket. In some cases, it could be caused by an object between the inner basket and the outer tub. The unit detects too much force on the motor or uneven forces as it spins and slows down even when empty. When there is a load, the washer stops to protect the system.

First try lifting up the inner basket and turning it a small amount. If this is difficult, one or more of the suspension rods and associated hardware should be checked and the damaged parts replaced. Check for and remove foreign objects between the basket and tub. Finally check the motor, motor shaft and bearings to determine which parts need to be replaced if the problem isn't corrected in the above steps.

I hope this helps.

Remove the top of the washer by removing the 2 retaining screws (phillips head) from the back of the unit & sliding the washer top back about 2" & pulling up. You will see a white detergent dispenser box with several hoses coming off the back in the left front of the unit (this box contains the detergent drawer). The lid to this box is held on by 8 pressure snap clips. You only need to release the 4 snap clips (3 large, 1 small at the rear) on the right side of the box (nearest the washer drum). Pull up on the right side of the lid while pulling out on the detergent drawer. It should come out normally. Do not reassemble until you read below, then reverse the steps to put the washer back together.

The problem will be the "softener" lid (blue). It will not be sitting down in the drawer assembly & will catch on the lid of the white detergent dispenser box. Simply remove the blue lid to avoid future jambs. It only serves to identify the fabric softener recepticle & it keeps fabric softener from splashing around when water enters the system. You may need to remove the entire detergent drawer periodically to clean (push down on the blue thumb indent inside the drawer to release it from the housing).

Hope this keeps you from drilling through the lid & ruining a $23 part, like I did.

if it is still under warranty you may wanna check their online customer service representative for home service. If not under warranty then you can do DIY as long as you can follow the disassembly steps and as long as you know some basic electronics testing. Look for the pressure sensor switch. Let it check for its continuity through multimeter. This part can be removed on the machine if you dont know how to test then ask your nearest technician to do the testing.

Sometimes it is the heater element in the dryer. Other times the main circuit breaker has tripped one leg. Some 220V-230V breakers have two trip switches that are tied together. One half of the breaker runs the motor and the other half operates the heater. A defective breaker can also cause the problem.

The serial number should be on the back side of the washer, on a silver label near the top.

On my WT1501CW it was a leaky inlet valve. part #5221EA1008F. It was dripping water into the floor. I found the issue by removing the top rear panel. This exposed that the parts around where the hoses connect were wet on the inside. I remove the inlet valve with the hoses still connected and turned on the water and small mists of water were coming out of the plastic. Hope this helps someone

Solution. Unplug the machine. Hold the power button for 10 seconds. Plug back in. Push the power button and the washer should turn on. Walk away leaving the machine on. When I did this, I came back to find the drum light off and machine would start on command now. Good luck.

Not enough water getting in your machine make sure your inlet hose isn’t kinked or the water pressure hasn’t dropped.

Without the model number it’s hard to say. Use the dial and set it to spin or a button that says cancel drain on it.
