LD451EGL no water extraction

Apparently, the fans are running, but the compressor has shut down. It could be a failed compressor, or the charge in the system could have leaked out causing the compressor to shut down.

The error code says bucket is full but it is empty. Have unplugged, plugged back in - same message. It's only two years old. Anyone else have this problem - or know of a solution? Thanks

The sensor is probably off track. It is a small float that sits in the back of the unit near the top of the bucket. It pivots when the water reaches it to activate the switch. It can be knocked out of place when moving the bucket in or out. Just re-seat it and make sure it can rock back and forth normally..

Buy a AC recharge kit at your local automotive parts store and do it yourself or pay about $80 and have a shop do it so you have piece of mind.

Keeps blowing the fuse.

Sounds like its compressor is pulling too many amps trying to start, thereby blowing the fuse. That would indicate that the compressor is most likely locked up. If so, it's time to replace that dehumidifier. Repair by a shop is far too costly, and you're better off using those bucks to buy a new unit.

I have a comfortaire bhd501-d that is very noisy. Any solutions? I checked the screws on compressor and they are tight.

Pull the plug on the unit and strike it moderately with your hand listening for any vibrations. Try to pinpoint the source of that vibration and correct it. You should also place the unit on solid ground to eliminate the possibility of the noise being amplified by the surface it is sitting on. "Very noisy" is very subjective. Best I can do for now. Please post your findings

How does it work what do I do to operate it

Read the instruction manual and then after you understand that turn it on and set it accordingly. 35% for the humiodity might be a good starting pint. It has a refrigeration system that blows room air across the evaporator coil then across the condenser coil. The evaporate coil gets cold causing moisture to condense and eventually drip into a collection device.

Dehumidifier keeps running and no water collects in the bucket

Sounds like a refrigeration problem, I am assuming the fan operates. Unplug it and let it set for about an hour. Plug it in and see if the compressor starts. If it does and you do not get water It is either low on gas or the compressor has failed. If the compressor does not start but hums it would need a new capacitor. If nothing the thermal overload has probably failed. This should get you started. Good Luck. If it is to involved they are not that expensive to replace.

Emptied bucket fine. Went to turn back on starts to work and then shuts down right away

Make sure that the water full detection switch is not stuck in the full position. Its a plastic piece near the top side and when the water level gets high enough it floats the piece up to turn off the unit. It can sometimes get misaligned when changing the bucket and stuck in the off position.

Unit keeps cycling off and on with the "bucket full" light blinking

It appears as if the water may not be flowing through the hose. * When you use a hose the unit must be located near the drain. If the hose is to long the water will not flow freely and cause the water to back up in the hose triggering the bucket full. * If the unit is lower or the hose runs up hill even the slightest incline will cause the water not to flow backing up to the machine * Hose must remain flat and in a down hill flow to the drain if you are running a longer hose than recommended. If you are have a long distance to run the hose elevate the dehumidifieer by placing it on a stand, milk crate, anything that will hold the unit. Be sure it is large enough and strong enough to support the unit to prevent it from falling. This will help siphon the water from the unit and prevent any water to back up the unit. * If your using an old hose make sure there are no kinks and water flows freely through the hose. Any kinks or type of pinch in the hose will cause the water to back up I hope this helps resolve your issue. This is the most common mistake when using a hose.

Says bucket full and it is empty

There is a float switch somewhere to measure the level of water in the bucket. That switch is out of position or broken. This can happen if you are not careful removing and re-installing the bucket. Look at the area around the bucket and you should be able to find and fix the switch. Make sure the power is off when you are doing this.

You may need a new fan motor. If you can get to thismotor, with the power disconnected, see if the bladeis free to move. Do you hear any sound coming fromthis unit?
