Guessing. Unplug power. Hold power button pressed on, then plug in unit. Take careful note of any lights and their sequence. That's "blind guesswork."

Drt389h dvd recorder update fix

If error is gotten with all disks then the laser mechanism is no longer working properly. If only with some disks then the mechanism is picky and will only work with certain disks; if so, that is a unique characteristic of your gear and you simply have to live with it.

Firmware installation for DRT389H dvd recorder

Check with manufacturer web site for firmware upgrades. But only do this if absolutely necessary since too many things can go wrong and render your gear useless..
