Hi there! Try to check the fuse from the amp. and the remote must have 12v power. There are 3 wires to hook up [+, remote and -] . That is the only way the amp could have power other than broken.. Good Luck...

My 2000 watts legecy amp is not working whats wrong with it?

HelloPower light doesn't come ON, means there is no power enters inside the circuits. There will be an over current protection fuse, inside the amp, meant to blow up, if any short circuit occur inside the circuit board of the amp, or at outside speaker connection. You should locate this fuse and check it. it will be a glass cartridge type, slided into a fuse holder. You can detach it from its holder by a hard pull out. Just locate it, detach it from the fuse holder, and check it with a multimeter, set in Ohms range. The meter should show continuity. If there is no continuity, means the fuse is blown up. Before replacing the fuse, you have to check the reason for its failure. Without rectifying the reason, if you insert an other fuse and switch ON the set, the inserted new fuse also will blow up. Sometimes, it may cause to further component damage too.So check the circuit for any short. You must have thorough knowledge in electronics and all tools to do the work. If you are not aware in electronics, get this set repaired by any experienced service technician. OK.

Protect light is on ,no

Make sure you have a good ground connection. The ground wire should be solidly connected to the vehicle chassis in a paint-free location. If the ground is connected badly, the protect light will come on.
