Hi,Welcome to FixYa.Since you have already performed calibration and cleaned the printhead, kindly verify that the ink cartridges are not damaged and are completely seated in the printhead:1. Lift the printer access door, then remove the ink cartridges from the printhead.2. Verify that the labels on the ink cartridges are intact, and that the cartridges are not damaged.3. Verify that the KODAK Ink Cartridges have not been refilled.4. Insert the black ink cartridge into the printhead, then press down firmly until you hear it click into position.
5. Insert the color ink cartridge into the printhead, then press down firmly until you hear it click into position.
6. Close the printer access door.7. Check the printer status monitor on your computer (or the LCD screen on the printer) to determine if there is sufficient ink available for your print job. NOTE: When the "Black ink cartridge is low" or "Color ink cartridge is low" message is displayed, print quality can be affected.8.Reprint the original picture or document that had the quality problem.Hope this helps. Hi Cort,Is there any paper error on the printer? Is the paper light on?If so,please clear the paper error before attempting to remove the color cartridge! The cartridge may have locked into place because of the paper error. If its flashing red,it means the cartridge is not full seated. You may have to push it until it clicks into place. Make sure the paper light is off before proceeding.

Hi,
The following may work: remove all the ink supplies. Remove the printhead and soak it for about 5 minutes in 0.5" of very hot water. Gently blot the printhead on a soft damp paper towel to remove the excess water, then replace in the printer and then reinstall the ink supplies.

then do it again almost five times & if still your problem is not solved and you still get error code 3802 then probably your KODAK EASY SHARE 5500 All-In-One Ink Jet Printer is in need of servicing by a service professional.

The printer will not print in black ink
Hi
Try going into Printing Preferences in the Kodak Printer Program and perform Maintenance.
You do not say which operating system you are using.
Start > (Control Panel) > (Category View) Printer > right click on the Kodak icon > Printing Preferences > Maintenance > Nozzle Check > Head Cleaning > test print > repeat nozzle check, head cleaning & test printing until problem is gone.
If this does not fix the problem, replace the black cartridge > head cleaning > test print.
You might need to perform head cleaning after every cartridge change.
I hope this helps.
