How do i lower the attachments on a kenwood chef

First of all, thank you very much for choosing FIXYA today for your technical support needs. Here is a direct link to the ONLINE USER'S MANUAL for that model:http://www.kenwoodworld.com/Global/Instruction%20books%20(User%20manuals)/Food%20Mixers/88249iss5%20KM300,%20KM400,%20KM800%20English%20only.pdf To view the Owner's Manual with Operating Instructions just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and blue highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated and the contents of the Owner's Manual. You may need ADOBE READER installed on your computer to read PDF documents, although many computers already have this type of utility pre-installed. You can download this free at WWW.ADOBE.COM if necessary. Click on the DOWNLOAD ADOBE READER button on right side of the ADOBE home page when you get there, then follow the onscreen instructions to install the software on your computer. I truly hope that was helpful to you. Good luck and take care. Joe.

Hook stuck in kenwood major;

Force it out carefully. One person wrap tea towel over hook and turn forcefully, anticlockwise. Secnd person use a long handle screwdriver to hold the Kenwood still - wedge between the housing where the hook inserts. Hold Kenwood still whilst twisting the hook. When it comes apart, clean 'hole' and hook shaft thoroughly with WD40 / oil. Might need new hook if too damaged. Ours is ok seemingly.

HI.When the stand mixer produces a popping sound during mixing this problem has something to do with the motor.Motor has bossing on it.This might not be lubricated well and eventually lossen up.That's why it produces a popping sound.And with regard to the burnt smell might be on the coil of the motor's rotor or armature.Is the unit still functioning eventhough you smeeell burnt wire?Thank you for choosing FIXYA..

HI.The thread to where tghe nut is attached might been loose.You can actually have it repaired by putting adhesive.Before you tight the screw put adhesive to the thread and tight the nut slowly.In this way the nut will be permanently engaged/fix and it will not easily loosen when the paddle moves.The other way is to replace the thread and nut as well.Thankyou for choosing FIXYA.

Late but I had the same problem and fixed it on me tod so maybe it will help someone else. There are two stages of closing, it will shut at around 6 o clock but it's locked when it's around 8 o clock (it should click into this same position when fully open) I fixed mine by pushing it down harder than I was doing. If it won't lock after this then a spring is borked.

Hi from the Philippines and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly

Is it just the power whisk or all attachments that do not rotate? On the A701A there is a clutch and spring fitted to the gearbox. (Spring loaded clutch) There is a pin in the cover that actuates the clutch. If the pin is broken or come out of the cover then the front of the machine will not work. (you may have to have someone fabricate a new pin!) If the clutch spring has broken you will experience the symptom you described also.

There is also a belt from the motor to the gearbox and the belt may have broken or come off.
The belt can be found on Ebay here:
