Kenmore Electric range - clicking when plugged in
Hi Al
I was hoping to find a parts schematic for that model, but couldn't find one. I checked to see if any government recalls but there are none. I found site with a comprehensive set of spares including the $380 control board, holy moly! I thought there might be a relay, but there doesn't appear to be. Unfortunately, it seems that your control board may have failed again. If you can partially strip it and trace where the clicking is coming from, and if it is on the control panel, you could replace the clicking part, which is suspect is an onboard relay. If you phone the company below, their techs might has some ideas.

Why is my oven not working?
Kenmore oven model 790 error code f1
The F1 error code in most of the Kenmore 790 models means
the control is not sensing the temperature properly. The tech sheet advises us to disconnect power for 30 to 60 seconds, and after power is reapplied if F1 is still present, replace the EOC (Electronic Oven Control).Mar. 15, 2010

Oven is not heating up all the way and there is a smell
It is gas so you can't fix it yourself. You need a qualified service tech to look at it. The smell is normally caused by an incorrect mix of gas and air being burned and can be cause by spiders nesting in or near the gas jets.
