Karcher K6.85 Pressure Washer. It won't switch on when I turn the switch on. The motor doesn't start?

Question edited for clarity. Use a DVOM to test the switch and the motor. The capacitor may have failed. Does it hum when you turn it on, that is a good indicator of a failed start/run capacitor. https://www.ransomspares.co.uk/parts/brands/karcher/pressure-washer-spares/k6.85m-wb%20gb%20%281.397-502.0%29/ Help and videos https://www.google.com/search?q=karcher+k6.85+doesn%27t+switch+on ..

My karcher K7 seems to keep blowing the fuse in my extension cable..any ideas ??

The following methods, according to Check Appliance, may help you address the problem:
  1. Check that the cable is inserted into the power socket and that the power switch is switched on.
  2. Check to see if connecting into a different power outlet makes a difference.
  3. Check that your extension wire is no longer than 10 meters (30 feet).
  4. Check to see whether the fuse or circuit breaker needs to be reset.
If these methods do not solve the problem, it is conceivable that the pressure switch is malfunctioning, causing the motor to draw too much current and blow the fuse. You should inspect the pressure switch for evidence of damage or dysfunction.

For my karcher FC5 - the cleaning water doesn't come out ??

I had this problem and partially fixed it accidentally by taking the whole thing to pieces a d re-assembling it and it worked...fir a week. ITS THE GREY BUTTON ...after further failing to release detergent I read about the Grey button being depressed and mine was too ..solid I couldn't get it to pop ip and this is why. Take the bottom cover off to show the detergent tube in its holder...undo the two screws holding the black bracket and gently ease it out...then replace it ..but here's the key.. the bottom of the bracket needs to sit under the grey button ...when I pressed the grey button it on one occasion pushed down lower than the black bracket ( it slipped past the ledge of the black bracket) this prevented the Grey button from coming back up and squeezed the detergent tube closed. So make sure the ledge of the black bracket goes under the bottom of the Grey button.. This took me 5 mi a to fix rather than the 1 hour totally dismantling the whole machine. Remember when pressing the Grey button to clean the cover not tu push down too hard as it will slip below the bracjet ( got to be a design error ) Happy cleaning ???? Andy

Karcher K2 Compact - Motor permanently running/no pressure

It sounds like there may be a potential issue with the pressure build-up mechanism in your Karcher K2 compact. The constant motor running without water pressure could indicate a problem with the pump or the pressure switch. I would recommend checking the following:

1. Check the inlet filter: Ensure that the inlet filter is clean and free from any debris or blockages. A clogged filter can restrict water flow and affect pressure.

2. Inspect the nozzle: Make sure the nozzle is not obstructed or damaged. A blocked or damaged nozzle can restrict water flow and affect pressure as well.

3. Check the pressure switch: The pressure switch is responsible for regulating the motor and water flow. It's possible that the switch is faulty or not functioning correctly. Consider contacting Karcher customer support or a professional technician for assistance with checking and possibly replacing the pressure switch.

4. Examine the pump: There might be an issue with the pump itself. It could be worn out, clogged, or experiencing other internal problems. In such cases, it's best to reach out to Karcher customer support or a professional technician for further diagnosis and repair.

Remember to always follow safety precautions and consult the user manual provided by Karcher for specific troubleshooting steps and guidelines.

Karcher k5 full control- cannot remove hose from power washer

If twisting, pulling, and pushing are not working, then you may need to use some pliers to help loosen up the connection. You could also try wrapping the connection with a cloth or rag and applying pressure with a pair of pliers. If that still doesn't work, you may need to cut the connection and replace it with a new one.

Karcher HDS 745-4 M Eco Steam Cleaner 1999 vintage. When I turn it on the contactor clicks but pump won't starts motor spinning. When I put power straight to it so that part is okay.

Question edited for clarity. 'Karcher not 'Kracher', add (what it is). Question moved from Washing Machines category. It sounds like the contactor has failed internally. This often happens that the internal contacts arc and burn away. The click is the electromagnet still working. Take it off and test it, or leave it on and test the output for continuity once energized. It is not a known issue. https://www.sparepartsdirect.com/acatalog/Karcher_HDS_745_m_eco.html https://www.google.com/search?q=karcher+hds+745m+faulty+contactor ..

Karcher 620m pressure washer wont start up or pump

Its the spill valve that stuck under the micro swith, this is quite easy to fix, to take the cover off there are 3 square plastic tabs under the machine, pull these out about 1/2 in that releases the tabs on the case's edge press the case inwards where the tabs were & take cover off, at the hose end the black cover is held by 4 torx screws, take that off and remove the detergent holder, then take the 2 torx screws that hold the micro switch out, pull that away forwards & sideways, take the 4 torx screws off the cylinder head cover & take the spill valve out, this is probably stuck so take care not to damage it as you try to pull it out, clean the valve & most important clear the bore in the cylinder head, its probably built up a white powderlike aluminium oxide, be careful not to scratch the bore, lubricate the spill-valve & it should now push back with not much resistance, now put it all back together, you could test to see if its workind OK before you fit the top cover, (if it doesn't you haven't cleaned the spill-valve & bore properly) NOW DO IT AGAIN PROPERLY HA HA HA

Karcher W5 premium wet/ dry no suction but no blockage and filters are clean

  1. Blocked hose: Check the hose for any blockages or kinks that may be preventing air flow. If the hose is blocked, clear it out and try the vacuum again.
  2. Damaged impeller: The impeller is the component of the vacuum that creates the suction. If it's damaged or worn, it may not be able to generate enough suction. If this is the case, you'll need to replace the impeller.
  3. Damaged motor: If the motor is not functioning properly, it may not be able to generate enough suction. If this is the case, you'll need to replace the motor.
  4. Clogged or worn out turbine: The turbine is responsible for moving air through the vacuum. If it's clogged or worn out, it may not be able to generate enough suction. If this is the case, you'll need to replace the turbine.
  5. Broken or disconnected hose connection: Check the connections between the hose and the vacuum to make sure they are secure and not broken.
  6. Faulty switch: If the switch that turns the vacuum on and off is faulty, it may not be allowing the vacuum to run. If this is the case, you'll need to replace the switch.

Karcher puzzi 10/1 carpet & upholstery cleaning maching not working in suction mode.

It sounds like you are having some issues with your Karcher Puzzi 10/1 carpet and upholstery cleaning machine. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Make sure that the hose is securely attached to the machine and that there are no kinks or blockages in the hose.
  2. Check the filter to make sure it is clean and not clogged. If the filter is dirty or clogged, it can reduce suction power.
  3. Check the solution tank to make sure it is properly seated and sealed. If the solution tank is not seated correctly, it can cause problems with suction.
  4. Make sure that the machine is turned on and that the switch is set to the "suction" mode.
  5. If the problem persists, you may need to take the machine to a Karcher service center for further diagnosis and repair.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Hi , I have a Karcher wet and dry vacuum and lately it makes a very loud screaming/howling sound when in operation , why is that and is it fixable ?

The motor has a fan on the top to cool it off and it is usually pressed on the shaft, they can come loose. The impellor on the motor may have come loose, there may be something stuck in the impellor area. Some of the motors have pressed on parts and cannot be repaired.
