Three things not mentioned 1. Specs for Ram
You need DDR SDRAM - 333.0 MHz - PC2700 (184 Pin)
The current is a CD-RW / DVD-ROM combo - Integrated, 24x (CD) / 8x (DVD-RW) / 2x (DVD-RAM) this is actually quite sufficient, most CD ROMS never burn at full speed anyway. If you really want more capabilities in my opinion it is much better to go to an external CD/DVD/BR burner, it will work faster and be a lot easier to install.
Current HHD - 40.0 GB - 4200 rpm IDE, you can go to 100 GB if you need to, get a 7200 RPM for more speed.

Hook a spare monitor to the pc, if picture okay! the JVC monitor will need to be replaced, "main circuit board mounted on back of the LCD is failing" not cost effective to repair, cheaper to replace. But if both show the same symptom it is the video graphics card, in the computer.

Cds play on all cd players but the ones i made on new computer do not why?
it all depends on the CD's your using. some CD's will not play on some players. try DVD-R blank disc, this may make a difference. try one to see ! I ran into the same problem a while ago! it depends on the player itself, DVD-R 4.7GB data 16xspeed. this should work if player is compatable with it.
