Jenn-Air Microwave Ovens - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

The grease filter is in the center between the lights. See the interior and ventilation diagram available here: . However, you might have this: . The base (33) is secured by the door hinge (part 32). I'd suggest you try pushing up on the sides of the base and seeing if it will then rotate down. Unfortunately, I don't see any details about Jennaire microwaves with this type of base.

I hope this helps.

What are the dimensions of the Jenn-Air M170 built-in Microwave Oven (built 1998) that I need to specify for a replacement unit? Externally, I see the frame measuring 26 3/4" W by 17" H, and the unit within the frame measuring 22" W by 13" H.

Ed Michaels : Hi, your machine is long out of production and installation instructions usually come with the machine and are not published. you have a standard size 24" built in machine, and most 24" machines will fit the space. I would click on Jenn Air or call 1-800-JENN-AIR (536-6247) and ask for a replacement recommendation and a copy of old installation instructions for planning with designer or installer. They have access to records if anyone does and an interest in serving you. Alternatively, talk to another seller and discuss installation. they will also want to help. Let me know if I can help further.ed

Microwave ovens emit powerful radio waves and in general for safety reason should only be used when in perfect working order. It usually costs more to repair an older microwave oven than to simply replace it.
Suggest buy a new one.

Hello -

I cannot give you instruction on how to remove the kit(?) surrounding your microwave.

I can provide you with information which may help you decide if arranging for an repair technician authorized to service your JennAir microwave is the best option compared to replacing it. I refer you to the information from Angie's List:

Best wishes.

Be advised that they are heavy. You may need 2 people to check this. The bracket may have a lip on the wall section that you have to take the weight off of to move it.

Check internal fuse first.

Jenn-Air M170... | Answered on Nov 27, 2017

Do you have the installation instructions that came with the oven? An electric oven requires a 220V circuit and the cable coming out of the wall you described is a 110 V circuit.

Blown fuse inside of unit. Must find out why fuse blew, something shorted or bad connections.
