if the three speed switch is functioning the middle speed winding is bad.  Either replace the fan or hook up a wall speed control and keep the fan on high.

Buy another fan with a reverse switch.

Try this; 1 - green 2 - gray 3 - brown L - black Is the switch you have from Hunter or did you buy it off a rack somewhere? The switch could look the same on the outside and be different on the inside. [email protected]

I would assume you can’t if it has no provision for it.

Make sure your fan has come to a complete stop before flipping the direction switch in the opposite direction
