On several occasions my x510

NO OS Stated, W10? or ? ive no idea all your system topology, what networks. sure sub net but what is it , consisting of what.??? vast choices. we use wired Gigalan here 1000 bits/sec. wired. every inch. all connected with GIGALAN high speed switches, with wifi , all you are doing is doomed to failure (1 day ok day2, not) i can list the top 100 reasons way, but will not. ill do a few..., , collisions with neighborhood, or noise. Channels are shared, and this is bad, in the concrete jungles. WIFI is RADIO, and will fail with noise, near by. RFI its called. google that. or wiki it. wifi is ok for chat ,email and whatsap. iffy on, skype... If WIFI is your mandate (bad) then move it to channel 10. i use wifi radar app and move to where the other guys are not.!!!+ if wired tell me are you using reserved IP in DHCP of this unstated router. do so now. make sure the media server is on a reserved IP . then setup shares. what are you serving audio video or both. can you see the files using the" my computer icon" , called windows Explorer? "this PC" in 10 now. just because you can ping it tells you only that the ping requests are honored there, and nothing else., it must have the shares all set correctly. next time tell the help the lay out of your system even post a system diagram. be amazing but , rare here.

Msa 1000 error code 408

Hi, a similar issue with MSA 1xxx series StorageBoxes is found in the HP - Enterprise forums 409 Storage Box 1 Power Supply Failed MSA500 G2 . The error code might not be the same but if the device is still able to boot and run, you can clear the error code by pressing the left & right simultaneously while the error message is in display. This is stated in the following picture shown below: msa1000-din3ggoagany3rpypfcd2kkq-5-0.png Alternatively, you can check the MSA 1000 error codes in the user manuals shown below: http://community.hpe.com/hpeb/attachments/hpeb/bsc-257/382/1/66469.pdf http://h20566.www2.hpe.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?sp4ts.oid=415598&docLocale=en_US&docId=emr_na-c00607272

Clean drive esl322e

You can open the housing, and remove the drive. Then open the drive, and use air under pressure to remove dust. Be careful, because if you don't know how the mechanism works, it could be the drive will not take in a tape at all. I do have a IBM manual, where they show how to open the thing, but it is not easy. The ultrium LTO full high drives are all the same. And I don't know how to get it with you.

Hp storageworks ultrium 448 drive light blinks orange

Hi John, not sure from your description which light you refer to.But this sounds like your drive has either had a read / write issue - in which case you need to run a new cleaning tape through the unit and then retry using a brand new data tape - OR it has had a damaged tape loaded into it which has now broken the tape drive. If the drive has been broken then try contacting www.tape-drive-repair.com who can repair or replace it for you and also look at http://tape-drive-repair.com/tools-and-information/lto-media-inspection-guide/The guide will tell you how to inspect ypoour media for damage and prevent you from reloading a damaged tape which will break your drive again

Ultrium 2 drive automatically ejects tape

Are you using the correct tape? If you try and use an LTO3 or LTO4 tape then it will just eject.Does the drive make a clattering sound when first turned on and it goes through its POST ?If the answer is YES then the drive has had a damaged tape loaded into it and the drive now needs repair.Goto www.tape-drive-repair.com for repair or replacement options as these are quite inexpensive these daysAlso try inspecting your media as per the guide here.http://tape-drive-repair.com/tools-and-information/lto-media-inspection-guide/If you find any damaged tapes then make sure to throw them away as should you reload these tapes they will go on to break your LTO drive again.

Replace fan in ultium 232

Yes you can certainly replace a fan on the external case of your tape drive. These are not available from HP but if you go to www.tape-drive-repair.com , they can usually help with replacement external chassis for your unit or supply a fan for you.You can also try removing the fan yourself and searching for the correct fan using the fan details. These can often be bought from RS components / CPC Tandy etc but you will need to get the right size (using the centre of the mounting holes) as well as the right thickness of fan. you might also need to make sure you get the right voltage and the correct number of outputs from the fan (some require a tacho wire)Certainly this fan is required as the tape drives can get quite hot when they are working and should they get too hot (a common issue) then they will become unreliable.

Tap not opening

You have only given a very brief outline of the issue but it sounds like you have a problem with the external chassis of your external LTO4 drive.A new external chassis may be all that is required and this is a cheap component compared to the drive inside. If you contact www.tape-drive-repair.com they usually have this sort of thing on the shelf ready to go, or could give you a price for them to repair and warranty the whole drive.

Insert backup tape, can hear it, then ejects, it

Sounds like a lost leader. When the tape is loaded there is a leader in the tape drive that hooks onto the end of the tape and pulls it out and onto the take up reel. If the leader gets out of position then the drive fails to load the tape and it is ejected. To fix it requires taking the drive apart. This might be a good time to upgrade to a newer model LTO. They were redesigned to eliminate this problem.
